Jorn - Love Is The Remedy

Easily one of the greatest rock singers of the 21st century, Norway's very own giant Viking warrior JORN LANDEs vocals are resoundingly strong once again on his ninth original studio album "Life on Death Road". It's great to hear that JORN is attacking the microphone once again.

"Life on Death Road" was not an easy album to make as it took several months of hard work for the songwriting vision to come together. JORN needed to take the music to a new level to push the concept of the band further than it has ever gone before. The result is a record that is deep, strong, full of groove and powerful with anthemic songs aplenty! Songs like "Man Of The 80's", "Love Is The Remedy", "Life On Death Road", and "Hangman's Robe" capture the essence of JORN as a singer, songwriter and lyricist.

The album also marks the debut of a new lineup of very experienced and gifted musicians around the Norwegian singer. On bass is Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER, KISKE/SOMERVILLE) who needs virtually no introduction to European heavy metal fanatics. On keyboards and production is Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE, REVOLUTION SAINTS), who already joined JORN for the recording of his last covers album, “Heavy Rock Radio” and was the glue that helped JORN to create the feel and the direction for the new album. Francesco Jovino (PRIMAL FEAR) is on drums and Alex Beyrodt (PRIMAL FEAR, VOODOO CIRCLE) handles guitar. Truly a recipe for a roaring success!

JORN had no desire to do "just another" JORN record. The aim was to do the best record possible and it took almost two years of writing, arranging, and producing before wrapping this all up. The performances are thunderous across the board and you can hear the urgency of these songs in JORNs singing!

JORNs catalogue is getting too long to include in brief overviews and his innovative and creative skills as a vocalist and music visionary have led to him selling millions of albums worldwide while being a frequent entrant on sales charts around the world including Billboard. Worth a mention here though are his years fronting German based MASTERPLAN, whom he recorded three albums with. Claimed to be the biggest selling Norwegian musical export since the pop band A-HA, JORN continues his rock crusade and there are no signs of him slowing down and “Life on Death Road” is a magnificent testament to his abilities!

Today's tune "Love Is The Remedy" is taken from the upcoming album "Life on Death Road", set to be released June 2:nd.

Allen/Lande - Lady of Winter

New week and as usual it's time to crowned this week's album!

The Record Of The Week is "The Great Divide", the fourth album release from Allen/Lande, two iconic vocalists of the progressive/melodic metal scene, started a collaboration back in 2005.

The project started having guitarist Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Starbreaker) as the producer, main instrumentalist and songwriter, working with two highly acclaimed metal vocalists: Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen and former Masterplan vocalist Jørn Lande. The songs, all written by Karlsson, featured a variety of hard rock and heavy metal songs with a progressive metal touch. A trilogy of albums with relative success (The Battle, The Revenge and The Showdown), were released with Karlsson's work, before his departure from the project.

On March 2013, Jørn Lande announced in an interview that a new Allen/Lande album was in the works but this time with songwriting and production made by former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki, replacing Magnus Karlsson. On 24 July 2013, Timo Tolkki also confirmed the role in the project via his Facebook page. The album was officially comfirmed on July 9, 2014, with the title The Great Divide. It was released on October 17 in Europe and October 21 2014 in North America. This time, Jørn Lande has also contributed with some vocal melodies and lyrics to the album.

"The Great Divide" is like a journey through the Melodic Rock & Metal world, where you will get an melodic wonderful vocals from two of the most powerful voices in the genre. This melodic journey is covered with strong energetic atmosphere guitars, crisp and harmonic rhythmic section and catchy chorus.

The album is pretty straightforward with two amazing vocalists that really delivers a great album that can be enjoyed more than once. The Great Divide has basically been on repeat the last week. Yes, I have sinned, I have listened to the digital media (; Is apparently not been released on the analogue (Vinyl) media. The album is filled with pretty juicy tunes. The songs are well written, great lyrics, a excellent music creativity and intricate musicianship have been made on this album, it's clean and balanced and not least the performance is made with a bravura.

Todays tune "Lady of Winter" taken from this week's "Record Of The Week". Listen to this and judge yourself what you think, this one is a very powerful tune that will get your jawbone to get stuck in an open position, enjoy!

Motörhead - Rock Out

The past weekend did the music stand in the "middle" as usual. This time, we got a pleasant visit from Motörhead. The band that once again did stop here on their tour, they regularly visit Sweden during their almost constant touring. Have actually lost count how many times I've seen them live. This time, was they accompanied with the Norwegian guy called Jorn, who was the support act on this run.

Same day as this, it were an release party of the new Motörhead Vodka.

Demonia did visit the party, you can read about it here!

Motörhead delivered as expected and it had actually been great to have to have the opportunity to photograph the gig, but there was no time on this occasion so I have just a little stray images. But a good friend had actually had time, so I offer some really awesome pictures from Micke Sandström, Enjoy.

Todays tune "Rock Out" is taken from the nineteenth studio album Motörizer. It was released on 26 August 2008.

Here are some crappy pictures!
