My Dying Bride - Your Broken Shore

British doom metal veterans MY DYING BRIDE did release their new studio album, "The Ghost Of Orion", on March 6 via Nuclear Blast. An album that I haven't added so much time yet, soon I hope as the single sounds really good.

The cover artwork for "The Ghost Of Orion" was created by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM).

MY DYING BRIDE are an English doom metal band formed in Bradford. Since their inception in 1990, The band has released thirteen full-length studio albums, three EPs, one demo, one box set, four compilation albums, one live album, and one live CD/DVD release.

Along with ANATHEMA and PARADISE LOST, MY DYING BRIDE were a forerunner of the death-doom metal and gothic metal genres during the early 1990s. The band is considered part of the "Peaceville Three" as all three bands were signed to Peaceville Records at the time.

Featuring:
Aaron Stainthorpe - Vocals
Andrew Craighan - Guitar
Shaun MacGowan - Keys - Violin
Lena Abe - Bass Guitar
Jeff Singer - Drums
Neil Blanchett - Guitar
Special appearance Jo Quail - Cello

Today's tune "Your Broken Shore" is taken from the album "The Ghost Of Orion", "Your Broken Shore" is the first song from MY DYING BRIDE for five years that comes laced with passion, power and their unyielding desire to create the most thoughtful and heavy music possible. Enjoy!

My Dying Bride - Feel the Misery

MY DYING BRIDE have released a new track from the upcoming 12th album "Feel the Misery"

The 2015 studio album from the UK's Metal masters. An epic journey of all-conquering Doom Metal steeped in woe and despair.

Pre-order the album:
Special Edition: (presented in a deluxe earbook format with a 40 page booklet, and includes a bonus disc featuring alternate mixes of album tracks, plus Feel the Misery on 10" vinyl) TIME-LIMITED EARLYBIRD PRICE OF £37.99

CD: 2LP: T-SHIRT: Digital:

Using 'The Raft of Medusa' by French romantic painter Théodore Géricault as visual inspiration as well as taking cues from the bands own bleak and foreboding music, MY DYING BRIDEs latest video is a harrowing tale of tragedy and loss.

Filmed on the stunning Pembroke coast of South Wales and in particular, St. Govans Chapel, the scenes were set to play out the narrative as vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe takes the role of a lone musician and poet who stumbles upon a fallen maiden while combing the seascape for curiosities. Clearly the victim of a recent shipwreck, she is gathered up and removed to a suitable, sombre resting place, all the while the mournful "Feel The Misery" plays alongside, marrying the rich visuals with the melancholic song.

Directed by James Sharrock & Ryan Mackfall, James explains “The concept for "Feel the Misery" has been in my head for a while. It is loosely based on the famous painting "Raft of Medusa" by Theodore Gericault painted in 1819, and when I heard the song it invoked the creative idea I had been thinking about.”

Bringing the video concept into context James continues “In May this year I read in the news reports of a "Ghost ship" carrying 350 starving Rohingya Muslims vanishing off Thailand. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand refused to engage in search-and-rescue operations, instead pushing the boats back to sea, letting the people starve and refusing to accept the asylum seekers – similar to the story behind ‘Raft of Medusa’ . It was only later in the year as we were filming the music video down around the Pembrokeshire coast that the media took a greater interest in the deaths of asylum seekers in the Med. The song has allowed me to bring to life not only issues that are currently facing us all, but a masterpiece that reflects a similar tragedy from centuries ago.”

Today's tune "Feel the Misery" is the title track taken from MY DYING BRIDEs latest opus and 12th full studio album "Feel the Misery", is set for release on 18th September on Peaceville Records
