Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop the Feeling!

After a well deserved "Short" vacation, we are back on the net again. I must say, that vacation rocks, big time, even if it was short, it was a great one. Took a trip up north with the family, a really hot summer resulted in lots of swimming, water skiing, bath fun and some nice visits among old friends and acquaintances on the road. Got some real Kentucky Fried Chicken at my buddy in Kramfors, an old American that found his place in life up north in Sweden raising up Huskeys and driving a dog sled. Just before my "Short" vacation started I did some cool shows with Beyonce and Eminem, both that was good in their own way, Beyonce arrived with a huge stage, a lot of dancers and musicians and her husband Jay-Z. Good show with some great Pyro. Eminem used a local stage, not so many extras except for a huge Video wall and some nice Pyro effects ended up to be a really good show.
A few days ago I got a chance to work with Justin Timberlake again. An extreme layout of the stage, cool video layout on rolling screens, not much pyro, big smoke in "Cry Me A River" and some propane on "Campfire" section where the presentation of the band was made and some covers were played. Overall it was pretty good for a pop star, he can certainly entertain his audience.

The Man of the Woods Tour is the sixth and current headlining concert tour by American singer Justin Timberlake. It is in support of his fifth studio album "Man of the Woods" (2018). The tour began on March 13, 2018, in Toronto, Canada.

The tour was first announced in January 2018, and due to demand, additional dates were released soon after. On February 5, 2018, the day following Timberlake's Super Bowl LII halftime show, Timberlake announced European tour dates, as well as second and third North American tour dates. Timberlake will tour Europe after the first North American leg, they will tour North America again starting in the fall. The third North American leg will begin in January 2019.

During a portion of the concert, Timberlake and his band the "Tennessee Kids" sing around a campfire. The "Stage Bar" VIP Experience on the tour includes a bar near the center stage and a drink ticket. A disco dance floor is near the stage, where Timberlake performs "Rock Your Body"

Setlist The following set list is from the show on March 13, 2018, in Toronto. It is not representative of all concerts for the duration of the tour.

"Filthy" "Midnight Summer Jam" "LoveStoned" "SexyBack" "Man of the Woods" "Higher Higher" "Señorita" "Suit & Tie" (contains elements of "Sho Nuff") "Soulmate" "My Love" (contains elements of "Blessings") "Cry Me a River" "Mirrors" "Drink You Away" "Flannel" "Until the End of Time" "Dreams" / " Ex-Factor" / "Come Together" / "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" (each sung by a backup singer) "Morning Light" "What Goes Around... At selected dates, Timberlake performed "Like I Love You". On May 9, 2018, during the concert in Nashville, Chris Stapleton joined Timberlake on stage to perform "Tennessee Whiskey".

Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer. Born and raised in Tennessee, he appeared on the television shows Star Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Timberlake began to adopt a more mature image as an artist with the release of his debut solo album, the R&B-focused Justified (2002), which yielded the successful singles "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body", and earned his first two Grammy Awards.

His critically acclaimed second album FutureSex/LoveSounds (2006), characterized by its diversity in music genres, debuted atop the U.S. Billboard 200 and produced the Hot 100 number-one singles "SexyBack", "My Love", and "What Goes Around... Comes Around". Established as a solo artist worldwide, his first two albums both exceeded sales of 10 million copies, and he continued producing records and collaborating with other artists. From 2008 through 2012, Timberlake focused on his acting career, effectively putting his music career on hiatus; he held starring roles in the films The Social Network, Bad Teacher, Friends with Benefits, and In Time.

Timberlake resumed his music career in 2013 with his third and fourth albums The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, exploring neo soul styles, partly inspired by the expansive song structures of 1960s and 1970s rock. The former became the best-selling album of the year in the US with the largest sales week, and spawned the top-three singles "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors", while the latter produced the top-ten song "Not a Bad Thing". For his live performances, including the eponymous concert tour for the albums, he began performing with his band The Tennessee Kids, composed by instrumentalists and dancers. Timberlake voiced the lead character in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls (2016), whose soundtrack includes his fifth Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping single, "Can't Stop the Feeling!". His fifth studio album Man of the Woods (2018) became his fourth number one album in the US.

Throughout his solo career, Timberlake has sold over 32 million albums and 56 million singles globally, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. Often cited as a pop icon, Timberlake is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including ten Grammy Awards, four Emmy Awards, three Brit Awards, and nine Billboard Music Awards. According to Billboard in 2017, he is the best performing male soloist in the history of the Mainstream Top 40. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2007 and 2013. His other ventures include record label Tennman Records, fashion label William Rast, and the restaurants Destino and Southern Hospitality.

Today's tune "1944" is a song performed by Ukrainian singer JAMALA (Ukrainian: Джамала, Crimean Tatar: Camala). It represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 and won with a total of 534 points.

The national juries voted the entry by Australia first with 320 points, and the televote voted the entry by Russia first with 361 points. The televoting result for Ukraine, of 323 points, however, was sufficient, when added to their jury score of 211 points, to put them in first place, with a grand total of 534 votes, leaving Australia second and Russia third.

The lyrics for "1944" concern the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, in the 1940s, by the Soviet Union at the hands of Joseph Stalin because of their suspected widespread collaboration with the Nazis. JAMALA was particularly inspired by the story of her great-grandmother Nazylkhan, who was in her mid-20s when she and her five children were deported to barren Central Asia. One of the daughters did not survive the journey. Jamala's great-grandfather was fighting in World War II in the Red Army at this time and thus could not protect his family.

The song's chorus, in the Crimean Tatar language, is made up of words that JAMALA had heard from her great-grandmother, reflecting on the loss of a youth which could not be spent in her homeland. The song features the duduk and the use of the mugham vocal style.

Jamala represents Ukraine at the Grand Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the song 1944

Frans - If I Were Sorry

Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday, Covenant Thursday, Great and Holy Thursday, Sheer Thursday, and Thursday of Mysteries) is the Christian holy day falling on the Thursday before Easter. In Swedish it's called Skärtorsdag :)

So behind, I find myself when it comes to reports about things that have happened recently. I'll certainly try to do better, so I start with one big thing that happens every year, it's the 6 weeks tour with "Melodifestivalen" Swedish tour version of Eurovison Song Contest. I participate in this Circus, not as an artist but as a hard working guy :)

It was a very fun journey, working with the best of the best, a tour were failures are so few that you almost not notice them as everything goes so smooth, fun tour indeed. Musicvise it's not my cup of thé, but I survived :) Anyway, here are some rare photos from the rehearsals.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It will take place in the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden, following Sweden's victory at the 2015 Contest in Vienna with the song "Heroes", performed by Måns Zelmerlöw. This will be the third time the contest has taken place in Stockholm, after 1975 and 2000, the latter also being held at the Globe. The contest will consist of two semi-finals on 10 and 12 May and the final on 14 May 2016. The three live shows will be hosted by Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede.

Forty-three countries will participate, equalling the record number of participants set in 2008 and 2011. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia and Ukraine will return after absences from recent contests, while Australia will also return after débuting as a special guest in 2015. However, Portugal will withdraw. The contest will also be the first to implement a new voting system since 1975, with each country now awarding two sets of points: one from their professional jury and another from televoting.

Avantasia - Mystery of a Blood Red Rose

Ghostlights is the seventh full-length album by Tobias Sammet's rock opera project AVANTASIA. It was released on 29 January 2016. The opening track, today's tune and first single "Mystery of a Blood Red Rose" is a candidate for the German representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, along with nine other songs.

The song was between the three songs competing in the final of "Unser Lied für Stockholm". In the final round, "Mystery of a Blood Red Rose" received 21.6% of the public vote, finishing in third place. The song "Ghost", performed by Jamie-Lee, was chosen as the German representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

The Digibook Edition of the album includes a bonus track and a bonus CD entitled AVANTASIA Live, which features songs recorded during AVANTASIAs 2014 performance at Wacken Open Air and 2013 performance at Masters of Rock.

AVANTASIA is a German symphonic power metal supergroup project created by Tobias Sammet, vocalist of the band Edguy. It has been characterised as a rock opera, as it features various vocalists and musicians and it consists of concept albums. The name is a portmanteau of the words "avalon" and "fantasia" ("fantasy") and describes "a world beyond human imagination" (a quotation from the booklet).

Today's tune "Mystery of a Blood Red Rose" is taken from the seventh full-length album "Ghostlights", enjoy!

Måns Zelmerlöw – Heroes

Sunday and finally a six-week tour with the Swedish Melodifestivalen to its end.

Sundays usually mean that a classic of any kind is played here, but not this sunday, today I will do a short brief recap of the time that has passed and we will play the winner of course.

Six weeks with "Schlager" music, not really my cup of tea music wise, but it has been a great time as the peoples behind this Eurovision circus are the best Sweden can offer in all plans. I must say that it has been a real challenge, were the focus have to be 100% all the time where a small mistake will be notice and it's something you can't afford. 6 weeks, 6 towns were 7 acts performed in each town and 2 went straight to final and 2 to the second chance. The 5 week we were in Helsingborg for the second chance were 8 acts have to fight in a duel to get the last 4 spots to the final. The final was at Friends Arena here in Stockholm were 12 acts have to fight over the 1 spot in Eurovision. This year I have to agree that right song won the Swedish Melodifestivalen and I believe he will have a good change to win the hole thing with a bang :)

Only one "Rock" act NEVERSTORE participated in this contest, really bad. Last year there was 2 :)
Well the final "Middle acts" was a bit more rock than normal, were the Norwegian Comedy Rock band YLVIS did a pretty cool tune and the Swedish fusion funk band "DIRTY LOOPS" did the cover of last years Swedish winner "Undo".

Måns during rehearsals!

One of the first rehearsals where some red pyro was tested but as you can see, I got pretty red to be able to use it in TV :)

Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw (born 13 June 1986) is a Swedish pop singer. He is best known for taking part in Idol 2005 finishing fifth, for winning the first season of Let's Dance, and for his 2007 song "Cara Mia," which was his entry in that year's Melodifestivalen. Zelmerlöw was the host of Allsång på Skansen from 2011 to 2013. He participated in Melodifestivalen in 2007, 2009 and won in 2015. He will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Heroes" in Vienna, Austria.
