Crashdiet - Rust

"Go big or go home” is a phrase we've all muttered, shouted, or heard multiple times in our lives. For Swedish hard rockers CRASHDÏET, it has been the motivational catch phrase since they started out back in the beginning of 2000. As fans who have followed the band know, the band has gone through a bit of turbulence in their career, with deaths, line-up changes, and a history of substance abuse that would make some legendary '80s hard rockers blush. However, the boys have also become known for picking up the pieces and returning to the fight every time they get knocked down. Their undeniable mixture of '80s arena rock with notable elements of punk has made them a significant name in the revival of the sleaze and glam (or hair metal) genre. In September they released their fifth studio album "Rust", followed by a European tour together with their neighbors in Norway, THE CRUEL INTENTIONS and Swedish punk-sleaze act HIGHRIDE, see the dates below.

CRASHDÏET released their critically acclaimed debut album “Rest in Sleaze” in the fall of 2005 through Universal Music, giving them a springboard to success in their home country of Sweden, but shortly after, in January of 2006, their frontman and founder Dave Lepard, was found dead in his home after committing suicide. The surviving members have carried on the torch since, recruiting new frontmen, touring the world and releasing studio albums to a growing fanbase.

"RUST" is CRASHDÏET's first studio album in six years and is the follow-up to the 2013 effort, "The Savage Playground". It also signifies the first album to feature the band's newest member, vocalist Gabriel Keyes, who joined the band in 2017.

"RUST" was produced by Martin Sweet (apart from two tracks produced by Eric Bazilian and Chris Laney) and mixed by Chris Laney, who previously worked with CRASHDÏET on their 2005 critically acclaimed debut, "Rest In Sleaze".

Shiraz Lane - Harder To Breathe

SHIRAZ LANE is a Hard Rocking group of five from Vantaa, Finland. Yesterday they did open up for the Swedish Sleaze rockers CRASHDIET.

SHIRAZ LANE originally germinated in 2011, the band genuinely blossomed in 2015 after the current desirable line-up was solidified. SHIRAZ LANE wreaks of creative variety, which resonates through their double-edged guitar sound (produced by lead guitarist Jani Laine and rhythm guitarist Miki Kalske), groovy-yet-solid ground pounding (Ana Willman drums & Joel Alex bass) and unmistakably high-soaring melodies chanted by lead singer Hannes Kett. Despite their youth (the early twenties), they are already veterans of the underground circuit in their homeland and have developed a reputation for being uncompromising, loud, but most of all the genuine article. Although wearing inspiration and paying homage to their predecessors like AEROSMITH and GUNS N' ROSES, the “Big Guns” of Scandinavia such as members from THE 69 EYES, AMORPHIS, CHILDREN OF BODOM, LORDI and SONIC SYNDICATE have all described them as being one of the most entertaining bands they have seen in the underground music scene, bringing a fresh breeze to the table in terms of both music and live performance.

Crashdiet - We Are The Legion

"We Are The Legion", the latest single and the return by the Swedish sleaze rockers CRASHDÏET. With an absent of three years, they are back with a new tune and a brand new frontman, Gabriel Keyes.

CRASHDÏET made their official comeback in the December edition of Sweden Rock Magazine, with the Stockholm based Gabriel Keyes CRASHDÏET once again will sleaze our minds with their melodic tunes. CRASHDÏET was previously fronted by Dave Lepard (2000-2006), H. Olliver Twisted (2007-2008) and Simon Cruz (2009-2015) and now their fourth vocalist Gabriel Keyes (2017-).

"We Are The Legion" was written in November and was released on Dec 30, 2017. It is being made available through CRASHDÏET's own label imprint, Diet Records. The tune was produced by Eric Bazilian, who can also be heard playing the acoustic guitar in the mesmerizing intro of the track. The song was mixed by Chris Laney, who also worked on CRASHDÏET's debut album, "Rest In Sleaze". The drums were recorded by Björn Samuelsson at Samuelsson Music And Sound Studio. It was mastered by Classe Persson. The artwork was created by Christel Mentges and can be seen below.

CRASHDÏET stated about the song: "It's a fight song, relevant to anyone who's going through challenges and setbacks in a world that is judgmental and superficial. We can only stay together and be strong on the battlefield of life."

This evening they are playing here in Stockholm, sadly I'm not there this time, but hopefully, they have a great time to be able to play again and I wish the lads good luck with everything.

The support for the evening is the great Hard Rocking dudes SHIRAZ LANE, from Vantaa, Finland.

Reckless Love - Monster

The Finnish Kings of Merry Metal RECKLESS LOVE will embark on a European headlining club tour that will take place in March and April 2016. As for now, the tour consists of 25 shows. The forthcoming European tour will also feature the Finnish glamrock band SANTA CRUZ as a special guest. 


In February 2016 they released two singles, "Keep it up all night" and "Monster". Their new album is estimated to be released in March 2016 just before their European tour. The album has been recorded during summer and fall 2015, with the band working closely side by side with producer Ilkka Wirtanen. 


RECKLESS LOVE, founded 2001 in Kuopio, Finland. On February 2010, they released their debut album, which reached number 13 in the Finnish charts. In 2011 they released their second album Animal Attraction, which was in the top 10 of the Finnish charts. After the success of Animal Attraction, Reckless Love released their third album Spirit in 2013, which contains the two singles "Night on Fire" and "So Happy I Could Die". Olli Herman Kosunen, also known as H. Olliver Twisted is a Finnish singer who was the former frontman to the Swedish glam metal band CRASHDIET.

Today's tune "Monster" is the second single from the upcoming album.

Days Of Jupiter - Broken Halo

The Swedish DAYS OF JUPITER are ready to take the world by storm with their bombastic, catchy melodic and heavy brand of hardrock.

The band looks for influences on both sides of the Atlantic ocean and they combines the modern american metal with classic hardrock from Europe and moulding it to their own mix as you can discover on their debut album "Secrets brought to life". The album consists of 10 uncompromising songs that will blow everyone away.

DAYS OF JUPITER was formed in january 2010 in Örnsköldsvik and after a few changes in the line-up they formed a solid group that could deliver the bands vision of a worldclass hardrock/metalband. 2010 was a year of a lot of hardwork that resulted in a lot of livegigs in Sweden with a fantastic response from the audience as well as a second place in Sweden's biggest competition for unsigned bands. They began the recording of their debut album with well known producer Patrik Frisk (CORRODED, TAKIDA, CRASHDIET) in Sidelake studios and were very pleased with the results when they finished recording in august 2011.

Last night I attended a big radio station here in Sweden, and its Rock Awards.

As usual the Host Speakers trowed themselfs out in the crowd and stagedived a bit.

This was sooo nice to see.

 

I was standing in front and had a cosy time with other people who 

(as me) was dripping of sweat, this was totally magic to listen to them, they did a marvelous gig Loved every damn second!!!!

Slash did many fantastic guitar solos that gave me goosebumps.

Crashdiet - California

A new week have started, also means that it's time to present this weeks "Record of the Week".

The 4th record of the Swedish glam metal band from Stockholm, picks the great prize as "Record of the Week" with thier latest album "The Savage Playground" As a friend of the band it's always excited to hear that things are going well for the band and that a new album is out. When I pushed the play button I didn't know what to expect, even if i have heard bit's and pieces thru the process. The band still keeps abit of the Glam/Sleaze formula when creating songs, even if i can feel abit more of the commercialism in the tunes.


Martin Sweet's guitar riffing has a high class, also Peter London's bass playing is heavy and a very good complement to Eric Young's drums. Simon Cruz vocal part has a more intense approach than im use to. The Savage Playground is without a doubt the band's most thorough and diverse record sofar, with a more melodic appearance and you'll probably pick up a lot of new fans.

The Savage Playground is the fourth studio album by Swedish glam metal band Crashdïet. The album was released on January 22, 2013. It is the second album to feature Simon Cruz as the bands lead singer. It is the first Crashdiet album to feature the same lead singer as it's predecessor(Generation Wild), as Dave Lepard committed suicide after their first album, Rest In Sleaze, and H. Olliver Twisted was kicked out after the bands second album The Unattractive Revolution.

The first single off of the "The Savage Playground" was "Cocaine Cowboys" released December 14, 2012 worldwide on iTunes. Due to an iTunes error, "Cocaine Cowboys" was released on the American iTunes store ten days early, on December 4, 2012. The music video "Cocaine Cowboys" which was released a week after the single, was directed by Richard Frantzen, and ends with the band being gunned down. As of January 2013 a music video (also directed by Frantzen) for "California" has resently been released.

The original record features 13 songs, though the iTunes version features an extra track titled "Liquid Jesus".
