Bring Me The Horizon - True Friends

"True Friends" is a song by British rock band BRING ME THE HORIZON. It was released as the third single from the band's fifth studio album "That's the Spirit". Musically a rock song, it has been more specifically described as post-hardcore and emo. It was released on 25 August 2015 on the bands official Vevo account.

"That's The Spirit" marks a surprising change in BRING ME THE HORIZON's sound and Oliver Sykes told The Pulse Of Radio how it came about. "Really, we were wrapping up 'Sempiternal', and we just felt like we'd progressed a lot just in that short space of time since releasing 'Sempiternal' and touring it, so, yeah, I guess when we finished the campaign, we just really felt like we had a big opportunity. Like, 'Sempiternal' really got us out to the public a lot more than the previous record and stuff, and it felt like people were waiting to see what we did next and people were really hungry for it, you know what I mean? So we just wanted to take the opportunity and really smash it out of the park, I guess."

"That's The Spirit" not only marks a change in the band's sound but also has a concept behind it.

Sykes explained recently: "It's a celebration of depression. A way of making light of it. That's the spirit — it's quite a depressing phrase when you think about it — the sort of thing you only ever use when you know there's no positive answer to the situation."

 

BRING ME THE HORIZON recently launched a North American headlining tour that stops in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday (October 20) and continues in Europe, see the dates below. On Saturday the 14th they will visit Arenan and Stockholm here in Sweden.

Today's tune "True Friends" is taken from That's The Spirit. The official music video, dubbed as a "short film", was uploaded to the band's Vevo on November 5, 2015. It was directed by Oliver Sykes and featured British actor Steve Oram ("Sightseers", "Bad Education", "The World's End"). The Music Video was produced by 12 Inch Media.

Paramore - Ignorance

Paramore is an American rock band that formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004. Members are Hayley Williams (lead vocals/keyboards), Josh Farro (lead guitar/backing vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass guitar), Zac Farro (drums), and Taylor York (rhythm guitar).
The band has released 3 albums sofar, first "All We Know Is Falling" 2005, and their second album, "Riot!" 2007, "Brand New Eyes", Paramore's third album, was released on September 29, 2009. Brand New Eyes is the band's highest charting album to date and they are really growing as a band and the big success is in the door step.
Earlier this week they played at a sold out Arenan in Stockholm and next time it will be a bigger venue for sure. Did a fast visit there to see the stage that i earlier had built, looked nice with all the stuff hanging, but had no time to stay and watch as i was busy with Ace :)

Todays tune is the first single with the singer Haley Williams & Co's from their latest album "Brand New Eyes",

Frontwoman Hayley Williams talked to Kerrang! about the meaning of the song in question.
"In my eyes, this song is a huge turning point for the band. The truth of it is, growing up is not easy. We’re five different people who have to work towards the same goal on a daily basis. There were a lot of times when I felt really alone or angry or insecure. I don’t always feel good at confronting people, especially people that I love, like these guys. Sometimes it takes songs to get the point across. The song is from one person’s perspective. It’s unfair that I’m the one who gets to talk about it but it helped me a lot. The line ‘ignorance is your new best friend’ is about how I felt I was losing people, and I think the band did too. But it’s okay, we’re growing up. I love that song."

Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart

Fever Ray, aka Karin Dreijer Andersson, is releasing her self titled debut album at Rabid Records the 18th of Mars.
Fever Ray is the name of both the project and the record, bring forth the sound, intensive and anxious.
This was the start that begun in the begining of 2007 when Karin and Olof, the siblings the constitute The Knife, that desided to take a break from a handfull of fabulous concerts.
The two first records did pretty well at home (Sweden) and the third, "Silent Shout", did enter the albumcharts first place award a prize to of six grammis. Todays tune is the first video from Fever Ray's self titled debut album.
