Backstreet Girls - Motorhellway

The Norwegian rock ’n’ roll legends BACKSTREET GIRLS are back with a new album "Normal Is Dangerous!

BACKSTREET GIRLS are entirely unconnected with a certain boyband of a similar name. The Norwegian ensemble has been around since 1984 and their influences bear names like RAMONES and ROSE TATTOO.

In their homeland, Norway, BACKSTREET GIRLS are somewhat legendary after praised albums like "Boogie Til You Puke" (1988), "Party On Elm Street" (1989) and "Sick My Duck" (2003). 2019 marks the band's 35th anniversary. This will be celebrated by, for instance, releasing a 15th studio album "Normal Is Dangerous". A given highpoint for you who appreciate fast-paced, groove-laden and tough rock'n'roll, spiced with boogie and punk..

Members of the BACKSTREET GIRLS are extremely productive musicians – guitarist Petter Baarli are releasing his first soloalbum in March 2014, entitled “You Petter B. Goode”. Among the contributors on the album are Glen Matlock, Jason Ringberg, Warner Hodges, THE BOYS, Daniel Røssing (Chuck Berrys pianist), Tommy Manboy (TURBONEGRO drummer), BT Baarli (former BACKSTREET GIRLS drummer), Pål Kristensen (former BACKSTREET GIRLS bassplayer), Eivind Staxrud (RAGA ROCKERS).

The recording was mainly done during an intense week in Recpublica Studios, a state-of-the-art studio in Poland, where BSG got free rein and the opportunity for 24-hour live-in-the-studio rock'n'roll along with producer Stamos Koliousis. Stamos has previously produced a large number of Norwegian rock and metal bands, such as DJERV, FIGHT THE FIGHT, ISKALD, KEEP OF KALESSIN, VREID among many others. The combination BACKSTREET GIRLS / Stamos have created a modern, open rock sound based on a collection of guitarist Petter Baarlis trademark riffs. "Normal Is Dangerous" was released 13 September 2019.
