Kalmah - Evil Kin

The finish blackened thrash, melodic death/power, folk rockers KALMAH have released their eight full-length album "Palo". And as always the ship is ed by the Kokko brothers Antti (guitars) and Pekka (guitars, vocals). Backed up by the loyal dudes Timo Lehtinen (bass), Janne Kusmin (drums) and their latest recruit Veli-Matti Kananen (keyboards). "Palo" is a powerful high energy record with roots of death metal, Finnish melodic heritage, cantankerous never-say-die attitude and themes of Northern nature and the folly of mankind.

KALMAH was formed in Oulu, Finland in 1998. In less than a year after its formation, KALMAH was signed by Spinefarm Records. The word "kalmah" is Karelian and could be translated as "to the grave" or "to the death".

Antti Kokko states: “Almost 30 years of swamp madness and here we are today representing our 8th album with fishing tridents sharpened shiny. The album stands strongly on the very roots of KALMAH sound yet introduces fresh breath from the Swamplord’s tar-stained lungs. "The Evil Kin" as the first single gives you riffs written back in 1991 blended with melodies of Kalmah today. It’s a perfect statement to show where we were and are right now.”

Today's tune "Evil Kin" is the first single of "Palo", enjoy!
