Melody Gardot (born February 2, 1985 in New Jersey) is a Grammy-nominated American singer, writer and musician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, though she considers herself a "citizen of the world". She has been influenced by such blues and jazz artists as Judy Garland, Janis Joplin, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Stan Getz and George Gershwin as well as Latin music artists such as Caetano Veloso.
Yesterday she did a performance here in Stockholm at Ulriksdals Slott, the show was beautiful and the audience seams to like what they saw and hear. She performed songs from all of her albums like "The Rain", "Your Heart Is As Black As Night", "Baby I'm A Fool", "Worrisome Heart", "Les Etoiles", "If The Stars Were Mine", "Deep Within The Corners Of My Mind", "Love Me Like A River", "My One And Only Thrill", "Who Will Comfort", "Caravan", "Over the Rainbow" and "Summertime"
Todays tune "Baby I'm a Fool" is a song written and composed by Melody Gardot. It was released as the second single from her second full-length album, My One and Only Thrill (2009). According to Gardot, the lyrics are about "two coquette people who won't admit they are in love with each other.
