White Void - The Hunt

Thursday, time for a cover. "The Hunt" is a tune by British rock band NEW MODEL ARMY. It was released on the third studio album "The Ghost Ff Cain" in 1986, the album propelled the band to the forefront of the alternative rock scene in the 1980s. Not least thanks to the widely acclaimed underground hit song, "51st State", which is the only song by the band to date to feature lyrics not written by the band themselves; the lyrics were written by Ashley Cartwright of The Shakes.

It was the first album to feature new bassist, Jason 'Moose' Harris. It also features former Nine Below Zero member Mark Feltham as a guest musician on harmonica on songs "Poison Street" and "Ballad".

Brazilian thrash metal band SEPULTURA covered the song "The Hunt" on their 1993 album, "Chaos A.D.". Today's version is made by the Norwegian band WHITE VOID, led by Lars NEDLAND the keyboardist and vocalist of progressive metal bands BORNAGAR, SOLEFALD, and AGE OF SILENCE. He recruited Tobias SOLBAKK from IHSAHN on drums, Vegard KUMMEN on bass, and Elvin MARUM on guitars.

Blackwolf - Moving Mountains

Born from a collective love affair with rock’n’roll’s true roots, BlackWolf’s soulful hard edged sound concentrates on channelling a contemporary voice with a vintage focus. Swagger-laden riffs collide with soulful swells. Riding high on this momentum, and that of their critically acclaimed pledge-funded début album 'The Hunt', BlackWolf hit the road this September with Planet Rock radio for their first string of headline dates as part of their 'Planet Rock Live Presents' UK tour. BlackWolf's 2014 début album release ‘The Hunt', along with their earlier 2012 EP release 'Taking Root’, has seen the band receive critical success by securing play-list spots on both Planet Rock radio and TeamRock radio, and collecting a mass of positive reviews from the national magazines and online press. The video for their single 'Keep Moving On' (taken from their début album) was released exclusively by Classic Rock Magazine, who later featured BlackWolf in the magazine's 'High Hopes' section, chose the band's follow-up single 'Moving Mountains' as one of their 'Tracks of the Week' on ClassicRock.TeamRock.com, and have just pre-released the band's latest stand-alone-single 'Kiss The Fire' on their 202 issue cover-mount cd.

With comparisons being made between themselves and successful peers; Rival Sons, The Answer and Alter Bridge among others, BlackWolf draw their sound from a heady mixture of blues, soul, R&B and rock'n'roll.

This is packed tight with energetic classic riffs and snaking blues grooves.
