Devin Townsend Project - Stormbending

"Transcendence" is the seventeenth studio album by Canadian musician Devin Townsend, and the seventh album in the Devin Townsend Project series. It was released on September 9, 2016 via HevyDevy Records.

"Transcendence" is a top notch album by Townsend and one of the highlights from it is "Stormbending", (see the video) below and it just got even better with a music video to visually conjure its thematic message.

“’Stormbending’ was a song that meant a lot to me while writing and when asked to do a video, I really pushed for it,” began Townsend. “I think the idea of it was based around turning the tide of your own perspectives on things. It’s very easy to get caught up in the negativity and fear that kind of pervades most things lately and finding ways to fight that away and keep a strong outlook on your own life can be challenging. It’s really easy to give in to it all as opposed to consciously working to better your situation,” he added about the lyrical theme.

Finishing up his thoughts, the mainman continued, “The video was done by a team of fantastic people in Serbia, and although it’s a challenge to be included in ones own videos, we decided to do one that was more performance based and I think it turned out really quite well. Thanks to everyone involved for making this happen and thanks to you for listening and supporting if you do :)”

Enjoy today's soul-stirring "Stormbending"

Sorcerer - Prayers for a King

Swedish epic doom purveyors SORCERER made quite an impact with their Metal Blade debut "In The Shadow Of The Inverted Cross" upon its release in March of this year. Now SORCERER has launched the second video "Prayers For A King" from this majestic doom opus.

The band comments on the video:

"Making this video was the brainchild of Daniel Nyqvist, he did a great job! We tried to reflect the story from the lyrics and Daniel made a fantastic job on this video. "Prayers For A King" is one of the more epic and gloomy songs on the album."

SORCERER formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1988. In 2011 John Perez re-released their demos again now re-mastered. 2010 the band reunited for the Hammer of Doom Festival in Germany and in 2011 the band played another successful gig at the Up the Hammers festival in Athen, Greece. After that gig the band decided to write some new songs and is recording a new full length album. The album was mastered by Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, DEVIN TOWNSEND).

Katatonia - Dead Letters

Katatonia is comming with a new album in end of August :D
"Dead Ends Kings" is the name of it.

I just heard a tune from it...It have a taste of...MORE, yeah I wanted to hear more. Full of expectation and mystery, I hear a glance of Opeth latest album, but more alive.

Katatonia will tour with The Devin Townsend Project, Paradise Lost and Stolen Babies for the North American "Epic Kings & Idols Tour" in September 2012.
Katatonia and The Devin Townsend Project will alternate headlining each show.  Katatonia will embark on the "Dead Ends of Europe Tour" with Alcest and Junius in December 2012

They say this on Youtube, about the tune: "We're proud to present to you the first glimpse into the world we've been living in for the last half a year. Instead of giving you just a snippet of audio, we decided to give you a "lyric video" for a FULL song also showcasing some of the exquisite artwork to be found inside the album."

The Devin Townsend Project - Bend It Like Bender

Devin Townsend is the Canadian guy whose fiery fingers have walked up and down the guitar neck in recent decades and created the magic that no one else. Devin Townsend has always looked a little crazy and nuts and played music that just fueled theories that his mental health been collapsing because of all the metal it soaked in. Devin has been playing extreme metal with Strapping Young Lad and every other kind of metal with The Devin Townsend Band, and four completely different styles with his current projects.

The recent projects is about four albums named Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction and the Ghost, where the first two were released in 2009 and later released in June 2011 and involves four different styles of music.

Yesterday did Devin visit Sweden for a gig at Debaser Slussen here in Stockholm. Didn't see the show as i was totally finished yesterday as of the Swedish Eurovision Contest.

Here's a couple of pics from this evening, taken by Michael Johansson.

Devin was sick with a bad stomach flu that day.

Todays tune is "Bend It Like Bender" from the eleventh studio album "Addicted" The album was released on November 17, 2009 and the second of four planned albums in The Devin Townsend Project series. Video directed by Konrad Palkiewicz. Enjoy!
