Zeal & Ardor - Run

Manuel Gagneux releases "Run" as the first taster of the forthcoming third ZEAL & ARDOR album.

A tune that is very intense and full of aggression. ZEAL & ARDOR frontman Manuel Gagneux says, “Run is the first single we are releasing off of our self-titled album because, while there are definitely familiar elements present, it sets the tone for things to come. It is surely one of our most aggressive songs yet, but that is just a vanguard of what lies ahead. So run while you still can.”

“Originally I was set to record an album scheduled to come out next year. As these songs were written due to the horrendous events that instilled them I decided to release them as soon as possible. Using the rich heritage and culture as a part of my musical identity it felt like cowardice to sit by and continue with my routine as if nothing happened

This record is for Michael Brown, Eric Garner, George Floyd and the countless untold and nameless killed.”

ZEAL & ARDOR is a Swiss avant-garde metal band started and led by Manuel Gagneux, a Swiss-American musician who had previously created a chamber pop project called BIRDMASK. Formed in 2013, the band mixes sounds of African-American spirituals with black metal.

Initially a solo project, the band signed with MVKA records in 2016 and expanded to a full lineup, with Gagneux on vocals and guitar, backing vocalists Denis Wagner and Marc Obrist, guitarist Tiziano Volante, bassist Mia Rafaela Dieu, and drummer Marco Von Allmen. The project started in New York City, but is now based in Basel, Switzerland.

ZEAL & ARDOR has released two albums, "Devil Is Fine" (2016), and "Stranger Fruit" (2018), as well as a demo album "Zeal And Ardor" (2014). In 2020, they released their first EP, "Wake Of A Nation".

Foo Fighters - Run

Suprise! A new tune "Run" by the American rock band FOO FIGHTERS. It was released as a single on June 1, 2017. "Run" is a great tune that starts with a 40-second intro with just soft guitar notes and mellow vocals by Grohl. After the intro, the song erupts into a hard rock sound, featuring heavy, distorted guitar riffs, thunderous drums, and alternating melodically sung and screamed vocals by Grohl, it kicks ass!

The song had first been played live in February 2017. The studio version of the song was released as a single on June 1, 2017, making it the band's first single since "Saint Cecilia" in 2015. Many music journalists noted the song is expected, but not confirmed, to be off of the band's upcoming ninth studio album. The single was a surprise release, without any prior indication being made of its existence, other than the band's vague allusions to working on music over the course of 2017.

A music video for the song was released on the same day. The video features the band performing the song in a nursing home, in make-up making them appear as elderly versions of themselves, and end up inciting a riot amongst other patients and orderlies. The video was directed by band frontman Dave Grohl. Turn it up.
