With four acclaimed albums under her belt amassing over a quarter of a billion Spotify streams, Lykke has accrued endless accolades. From “Best Album of the Year” nods from the likes of The New York Times and Rolling Stone to performing on the renowned stages of music festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella and Lollapalooza. June 2018 Lykke Li released her fourth studio album so sad so sexy to widespread critical acclaim. Her performance at Way Out West will be her only Swedish performance this summer.

In 2016-2017, she was busy nurturing, liv, her love child with Andrew Wyatt, Björn Yttling, Pontus Winnberg & Jeff Bhasker – a project that allowed the collective to mutually have a creative outlet.

Lykke Li did perform in Slottsskogen on Saturday, August 11.

Today's tune "Never Gonna Love Again" is taken from the third studio album "I Never Learn", released on 2 May 2014 by LL Recordings and Atlantic Records. Lykke Li - No Rest For The Wicked

Lykke Li is a Swedish singer-songwriter. Her music often blends elements of pop, indie rock, and electronic; various instruments can also be found in her songs, including violins, synthesizers, tambourines, trumpets, saxophones, and cellos. Li possesses the vocal range of a soprano.

I Never Learn is the third studio album by Swedish recording artist Lykke Li, released on 2 May 2014 on Li's LL Recordings.

Li recorded the album with Björn Yttling and Greg Kurstin. The album is considered to be the final entry in a thematically-related trilogy that began with her first two albums. Li announced the album with a short film directed by Tarik Saleh and featuring actor Fares Fares, both of whom are frequent collaborators of hers. The first week of March, Li released a video for the track "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone", also directed by Saleh. Time magazine's Melissa Locker wrote that the track was "heart-stoppingly stunning" and believed it was "a bare-knuckled thing of beauty. Heartrending and intimate, the song features Li's lush vocals front and center in the stripped down song. As the first taste of her new work, it bodes very well for the upcoming album".

In an interview with the NME on 17 January 2014, Li felt this album may establish her place in the music industry by stating:

It's always about me and the guilt and the shame and the hurt and the pride and the confusion of being a woman. I always feel like I've been slightly misunderstood. As a woman you get judged for appearances or things like that I don't really care about. If anything I want to be seen as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop artist. I really feel like I've found my voice.

Todays tune is the album's lead single, "No Rest for the Wicked", premiered online on 19 March 2014, and was released digitally on 21 April 2014.

Anna von Hausswolff - Mountains Crave

Stockholm is a city that comes to life in summer and the island of Skeppsholmen, surrounded by the city’s glittering water landscapes, lies at the heart of this yearly event. Acting as a cultural hub for both Sweden and Scandinavia, Stockholm is a city well deserving of its own international music festival. Stockholm Music & Arts is that festival and with food, drink and great company we will celebrate the city, summer, art and music in a distinctive urban archipelago setting.

Continuing the tradition of Skeppsholm’s Festival, Stockholm Jazz & Blues and Sthlm Jazz Fest, Stockholm Music & Arts aim to provide a high quality program that is both ambitious and unique that will help expand the musical and cultural horizons of our nation’s capital. From August 3-5, 2012, Stockholm Music & Arts will offer a program that combines intelligent art with distinct musical artistry – some of the best Sweden and the world have to offer.

Today, we do some advertising for the festival and play a song from one of the participants who had been quite hot in the media and among friends.

Anna Von Hausswolff was born 6 September 1986 in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is a singer, pianist and songwriter. She released her debut single, "Track of Time", on 5 February 2010, followed by the debut album Singing from the Grave. The album was very well received by the Swedish press. She played on the Way Out West Festival in 2009. In March 2010 she warmed up for Tindersticks on three occasions. She has also warmed up for Lykke Li on her tour 2011 for three occasions, and for M.Ward at the royal theatre Dramaten in Stockholm. She was on a tour in Brazil September 2010 together with Taken by trees, and Taxi taxi! Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers

Yesterday was a festival, more specifically, Propaganda! A package crammed with music. At that stage I was working on, jostling bands like Those Dancing Days, Jenny Wilson, Säkert Midlake and Lykke Li. A very nice event, as usual, when this festival takes place. Going to do a little summary of the bands that played on the scene I was working on the mixing of images:)

First was the Stockholm band Danicing Those Days, these young ladies did a great performance with their danceable pop. Had some bad luck At the beginning when guitarist shoulderstrap released and was trying to play until rescue came and the gaffa rescued the rest of the gig. Drummer Cissi's probably one of the coolest drummers in the girl band I've ever seen, she pounded the skins as if it was the last thing she would do in life.

Then it was time for Jenny Wilson and her Tensta Gospel Choir to perform. It was actually quite impressive with the choirs. Swinging ok.

After that it was Annika Norlin and her Säkert's to get up on stage. She is a Swedish pop artist who makes music under the artist names Hello Saferide (in English) and Säkert! (in Swedish). Her Swedish songs get the audience to sing along.

A small view when Säkert's backline tech "Joel" trying to work during Jenny Wilson's gig. A bit difficult to see when so much smoke should pass the visual field.

A view of the audience and excited photographers.

American band Midlake was number four to enter the scene. That this is a band that certainly is best suited during a little more intimate relationships than the festival, it could be seen almost immediately, the band use only a fourth part of the stage, very compact, I must say, but they did an awesome gig, really beautiful with their folksih element mixed with easy country rock.

Lykke Li who was the evening's headliner on the main stage for a night of very smoky but spectacular show.

Todays tune "I Follow Rivers" is a song by Swedish recording artist Lykke Li from her second studio album, Wounded Rhymes. Produced by Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, it was released in Sweden on 21 January 2011 as the album's second single. The music video was directed by Tarik Saleh and features Li in a black robe and veil chasing a man (Fares Fares) through a snowy landscape.

Other Lives - For 12

Today I am on Popaganda with "Midlake", "Lykke Li", "Säkert", "Those Dancing Days," "Jenny Wilson" and "Blomman" Yesterday played bands like "Arcade Fire", "The Go! Team "," Saint Etienne "and others. That this is a festival that is as related to Way Out West noticeable apparently, music wise the same but with different names. Had probably wanted a little more off the rock touch of bands but you can not have everything in this world. A band that I had booked, if i would have been the bandbooker for this festival is "Other Lives".

Other Lives is an American indie rock band from Stillwater, Oklahoma. The band formed in 2004 as Kunek and released one album in 2006 under that name. Other Lives' self-titled album was released physically April 7, 2009. Other Lives latest record titled "Tamer Animals" that is due out on August 29, 2011 in UK/Europe.

The new record is a pretty fantastic story, filled with orchestral landscapes and a fine singing voice that is the quilt from a new made bed. The album is dark and spooky, a sweeping sense of an autumn overcast day in Stockholm.

"For 12" is the first single from the album, a mysterious, dreamy but incredibly beautiful thing.

Oh I was in the dark age searching for the ones in my mind.
But I had hit the ground runnin. Steady as you go. I don't mind. I'm still here today.
Spouting hymns and buzzing rhymes and forever talking when it aint so kind.
But it feels like forever on the run. When your mind turns to fiction.
I had took the long way. I was in the heat. I don't mind. I'm so far away.
But it feels like forever on the run.
Nudging the ghost from the skull. A night without sleep.
Vibration comes first to the head and last to the feet.
Spouting hymns and buzzing rhymes and forever talking when it aint so kind.
But it feels like forever on the run. When your mind turns to fiction.
