Coldplay - Magic

Ghost Stories is the sixth studio album by British rock band Coldplay. The album, co-produced by the band with Paul Epworth along with returning Mylo Xyloto producers Daniel Green, and Rik Simpson, was released by Parlophone on 16 May 2014. The album was released by Atlantic Records in North America on 19 May 2014. It is the first full-length release by the band in North America under Atlantic, after Coldplay were transferred from Capitol Records in 2013, following the purchase of EMI and its assets by the Universal Music Group in 2012.

Ghost Stories, partly inspired by lead singer Chris Martin's troubled relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow at the time of the album's recording, is a concept album that tells the story of a man going through a dramatic and sudden breakup, with the narrative following the man's various emotional states leading up to his eventual acceptance of the situation. The album revolves around a central theme of "opening yourself up to love", and accepting that love does not last forever. The album was recorded by the band throughout 2012 and 2013 at the band's purpose-built home studios in London, England, and features guest producers Avicii, Timbaland and Madeon, in addition to the band's frequent collaborator, Jon Hopkins.

The album art for Ghost Stories was etched by British based, Czech etching artist Mila Fürstová. The medieval art-driven artwork, measuring 100 by 100 cm, features a pair of angel wings imposed onto a painting of an ocean under a sky at night. The angel wings themselves feature cryptic imagery of medieval-style drawings of fairly contemporary objects and concepts. The images include a couple in love, a man facing a mirror, a flight of white doves, a circular maze, a girl by candlelight, a window looking out onto an incoming tornado and a garden plant with a ladder, amongst other imagery depicted in the artwork. A larger, digital version of the artwork is available on Coldplay's official website, with the ability to zoom into the artwork with a screen magnifier.
Fürstová had etched the artworks for all of the releases in the Ghost Stories album cycle, including the artwork for singles "Magic" and "Midnight", which all use the same motif of a scenario taking place in a larger body. Fürstová, whose work has been described as "dazzling images are both contemporary and personal, searching in the surreality of dreams, tales and fables that can map the framework of our consciousness" and has won numerous awards, including the Royal College of Art Society Award in 2001 and becoming the youngest academician at the Royal West of England Academy in 2009, was invited by Coldplay to etch artworks for their new album in January 2013. She described the collaboration between her and the band as "a most inspiring journey and a truly humbling experience to cooperate with such talented people".

There are plans for an exhibition of Fürstová's Ghost Stories artworks in the Autumn of 2014 in central London. 25 original etchings and 100 high-quality digital prints of the artwork, all hand-signed by Fürstová, are also set to go on sale on 19 May 2014, the same day Ghost Stories releases in the United Kingdom and the United States

Todays tune "Magic" is a song recorded by British alternative rock band Coldplay for their sixth studio album, Ghost Stories (2014). It was written and produced by band members Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, Chris Martin, with production assistance from Paul Epworth, Daniel Green, and Rik Simpson. The song was released as the lead single from Ghost Stories on 3 March 2014, by Parlophone.

Brandon Flowers - Crossfire

Hello again, it feels like it was ages since I wrote anything here. First a big thanks to Thetania that have kept life in the blog while I've been out on an adventure. Right now I have a deadspot in my pretty tight schedule here in Gothenburg. So far, I'm done with the festival "Where The Action Is” (WTAI), This was a really good festival. It was held at Azaleadalen (Azalea Valley), Slottsskogen in Gothenburg. 25,000 visitors during a sunny and fantastic day with lots of good music, a completely unprecedented environment of nature. The final exam of this will probably be a memory that they will certainly keep for a very long time. I really hope that this place used on any type of entertainment of the same genre.

It has certainly been an interesting time, but with much work and very little sleep. Unfortunately i have not been able to take so many pictures during this trip, had not really the time to photograph seriously during this hectic time, but mostly on the fly, but as they say, that always better than nothing. But i did hear Sahara Hotnights in the background :) Saw 1 or 2 tunes with Brandon and 2 tunes with Glasvegas and half of Coldplays show, so thats not bad at all.

Regarding on this weekend's exploits at Ullevi, that I take in the coming week. That will include the gig on friday with Iron Maiden and tonights show with the Big 4, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax.

One of the performers on the WTAI festival was Brandon Flowers, who is an American musician, best known as the frontman of the Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers. He has also released a solo album entitled Flamingo.

Todays tune is "Crossfire” that is the debut solo single from his solo album ”Flamingo". Written by Flowers himself, and produced by Brendan O'Brien.

Here is one photo from Brandons gig at WTAI taken by Magnus Sunderberg.

Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Coldplay had a gig yesterday in Gothenburgh, Sweden at the "Where The Action Is". They had a big audience that danced in the sun of Azaleadalen :D

They will release an album in autumn 2011.
Its named "The Fifth Album"

Coldplay is:

Guy Berryman on bass guitar, backing vocals
Jonny Buckland on lead guitar, backing vocals
Will Champion on drums, backing vocals
Chris Martin on lead vocals, keyboards

Stones is down there and will report and might have some pics to show ya all.
Im home and just like a "sun cat" laying in the sun and bathing now and then.
Yesterday I took a break from home and my kids and went out to take some beers with some friends, wanted to go and look on "Plan Three" and Sick Puppies but...hmz..We never got there, damn wanted that.. ah well.

Back to this tune of the day´s comming album.

One of the goals for the album was to write tracks with greater use of experimenting with acoustic instruments, manipulation, and electronics by having or not having to revisit the style from Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. With Chris Martin deciding to not release a solo album, it was rumoured the fifth album would be their last, but Martin later denied this fact. Upon re-entering "The Bakery,"the time to write and record songs were thought outside the box by the band to be more ambivalent than what they wanted. Coldplay were still making new matierial there, so they relocated to another building after continuing the Viva la Vida Tour in mid-late 2009. Martin predicted the style of the album as having lesser fanfare and more "stripped-down" before moving there.
