Candlemass - The Omega Circle

Category 3: "Best Right Now" time to see what's got played during the "Hardrock Evening" that when off at the Twelfth Night, 5th of January.

1. A Band That Should Have Been Bigger:
2. Highfaluting:
3. Best Right Now:
4. Twin Guitars:
5. Best Textstrophe:
6. It Swings:
7. After Party:
8. Bonus:

"Best Right Now",  could be the best category to pick tunes to, here you get a chance to show off :) Or at least play something that you really like and would love to share with your pals. This category tends to be really sprawling, some find the most obscure tune, were others play their nr 1 of the year. Really fun category.  My choice for the evening was a pretty late call, got a tip from my friend Linus at Soundpollution Record store, this was in the middle of December and I got hooked right on the spot, even got lost in my search for something interesting to buy...haha. My tune for the evening was the Cologne, German-based Death Metal band CHAPEL OF DISEASE with the track "Void Of Words". A band that really plays the pants off anyone, great mixture of Progressive Death Metal, Rock 'n Roll, Blues and Metal, Check it up.

The others line up:

TRIBULATION "Nightbound" - Hellan (Perfect tune from the best album 2018)
THRON "Dead Souls" - Sandström (Massive tune, great choice)
CANDLEMASS "The Omega Circle" - Chief Rebel (Excellent CANDLEMASS tune)
BLOODBATH "Bloodicide"- Holm (Good Choice)
HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY "Fire Walk With Me"- M Öbrink (Wow, another superb tune)
PARADISE LOST "Small Town Boy" - Eriksdotter (Excellent tune, but she got a yellowcard, as this tune have already been played before.)
BAEST "Crosswhore" (Never heard this one before, heavy tune)
AMORPHIS "Wrong Direction" - Jens (Great pick from Jens, AMORPHIS one more time.)
CHAPEL OF DISEASE "Void Of Words" - Stones

"The Omega Circle" is a choice picked by Chief, an excellent tune with the epicus singer Johan Langquist is back after a 32 year hiatus replacing Mats Levén who’s been with the band since 2012.
He sounds even better than before, wow. Enjoy.

From the album "The Door to Doom" February 22, 2019 Napalm Records.

Alastor - Blood On Satan's Claw

Category Three: (Best Right Now)

This is one of the most funniest categories to do, here you get the chance to play something really good that you like and share it to the others and hopefully they will like it to. The tune that I picked this year was "The Sky at the Bottom of the Sea" with the Swedish doom rock band AVATARIUM taken from the third studio album "Hurricanes And Halos". An album that have been played alot last year, this was also the tune that I nominate as the best tune last year.

Other tunes that was played during this category was.

SONS OF CROM "Fall Of Pandemonium" - Chief Rebel (Never heard this one before, cool)
MORBID ANGEL - "I Am Morbid" - Holm (Hard and heavy)
ALASTOR "Blood On Satans Claw" - PÖbrink (Hell yeah)
NEVERMORE "Hart Collector" - Hellan (Cool one)
NEVERMORE "The River Dragon Has Come" - MÖbrink (Here we go again)
FOO FIGHTERS "The Sky Is The Neighborhood" - Eriksdotter (Best tune from the latest album)
DEAD LORD "Part Of Me" - Sandström (Marvelous ballad, great choice)
D-A-D - "D-Law"
 - Sköldan (Excellent Choice)
MUSTASCH "Lawbreaker" - Jens (Great new tune from the Swedish rockers)
AVATARIUM "The Sky at the Bottom of the Sea" - Stones

(Missing songs from two participants).

Kinda Karma, today I found this in my post box, nr 33/100, yihaa! A cassette that have been sold out since the release.

Todays tune "Blood On Satans Claw" by ALASTOR, taken from the latest EP by the band, released only on Cassete and as digital. The tune was picked by Pär Öbrink, this is heavy, slow and absolutely amazing!

Iron Maiden - Ghost of the Navigator

Today we present category three: (A tune on high volume in the car makes you a good driver) from the annual hard rock evening.

This was a really a brilliant category. "Car Music" and if you look below you can see the choices that was made and a all of them are good car tunes, like Thetanias SYSTEM OF A DOWN - B.Y.O.B and she don't even have a drivers licence, but I guess that is how she felt when she was driving (: cleaver tune indeed. Or Jensa's tune "Ghost of the Navigator" with IRON MAIDEN, haha, brilliant. Sandström had "One Finger Salute" with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, also a very good choice, as that is exactly what you want to do from time to time when you meet up with idiots on the road, the others was very good indeed. I chose to go with a newer thing, picked one of the fasted tune from the doom metal band KHEMMIS, not as brilliant as the others, but my choice was based on the most played car tune lately, a tune that took most of my focus as a driver and where the gas got pushed an inch more than necessary :)

Other tunes that was played.

AMON AMARTH - Vengeance is My Name
KHEMMIS - Three Gates
W.A.S.P - Wild child
STONE SOUR - Gone Sovereign
SYSTEM OF A DOWN - B.Y.O.B
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES - One Finger Salute
IRON MAIDEN - Ghost of the Navigator
BEAST - Night Lust

(Missing songs from two participants).

Today's tune "Ghost of the Navigator" is taken from the twelfth studio album "Brave New World" by the English heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN, released on 29 May 2000. It was their first studio release since the return of longtime lead singer Bruce Dickinson (who left in 1993) and guitarist Adrian Smith (who left in 1990) in 1999, as well as the band's first studio recording as a six-piece, as Janick Gers, who replaced Smith in 1990, remained with the band.

The album artwork and title song are references to the novel of the same name, written by Aldous Huxley. The upper half of the artwork was created by Derek Riggs, with the bottom half by digital artist Steve Stone.
