The Hives - Good Samaritan

THE HIVES are a Swedish rock band that rose to prominence in the early 2000s during the Garage Rock Revival. Their mainstream success came with the release of the album "Veni Vidi Vicious", containing the single "Hate to Say I Told You So". The band has been acclaimed by music critics as one of the best live rock bands and I can just agree!

THE HIVES is working on some new material that will be released later this year along with a tour with THE OFFSPRING, see all the dates below. In the mean time we can kick off this friday with a raucous new punk salvo titled "Good Samaritan".

The band about the tune: “This a song about helping people help themselves by not helping them? Are they sarcastic or do they hate people now? Is this punk? You never know with these Hives and it’s been a while since I saw them so let’s all go see them again and see what they are on about?”

The band added, “[It’s] musically faster than usual but a surprising dive into the chorus that feels like going into hyper-space. Now it’s not surprising anymore. Oh well.”

Though details of a new album have yet to surface, it’s been revealed that the band have been working with producer Dave Sardy on their first album since 2012’s "Lex Hives".

THE HIVES will join THE OFFSPRING on their UK/Ireland invasion spreading the California punk sun by adding their own unique unfuckwithable version of arena garagerock.
