HEX A.D. is a Norwegian Hard Rock band with a lot of progressive and doomy tendences, inspired by the great British bands of the 1970s.
HEX A.D. is the brainchild of drummer/singer Rick Hagan and producer Chris Tsangarides. The debut "Even The Savage Will See Fair Play" was released in 2012, and received great reviews in the Norwegian hard rock press. A live band that consisted of Rick on vocals, John V on guitars, Stiffy Moe on Drums and Arry Gogstad on bass toured in support of the album between 2012 and 2015.
In the autumn of 2015 Magnus Johansen joined the lineup on hammond organ and mellotron to make a second album "The Last Nail In The Coffin Lid". Rick and Magnus alone made the new record in 8 days at Chris' studio in Kingsdown, UK.
On their return from England John left the group to focus on his own music, leaving Rick to handle both guitar and vocal duties. Rick's brother Matt replaced Stiffy on drums around the same time, giving the new live band a doomy and proggy feel.
