Danko Jones - Had Enough

Danko Jones is a Canadian rock band from Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Danko Jones (vocals/guitar), JC (also known as John Calabrese) (bass guitar), and Dan Cornelius (drums).

During this week did Danko Jones visit Sweden for a tour, he made a stop in Stockholm over the weekend and a gig at the Bandit Rock Awards that was held at a Sold out Munchenbryggeriet.

Bands like Plan Three, Royal Republic, Pain, Bullet, Danko Jones and Sick Puppies that you could read about yesterday. Danko himself sneaked around and checked out all the bands that played, it is obvious that he is very interested in music.

So if you are around any of the dates Danko Jones is doing, go and see them, they really rock your socks off, they did a really good performance at Munchenbryggeriet. Although I am dead tired today so I go and humming the songs that were played, it was good as hell. I´m a bit eager to take a little trip for a gig nearby, such the one at Uppsala soon, check out the tour dates below.

It was really an interesting evening, very well-known musicians were mingling there, many of them were nominated in the Bandit Rock Awards, it was one or two well-known face´s and long curly hair´s here and there.

Here are the winning entries.

Sick Puppies - Maybe

Sick Puppies was in town yesterday, a 3 piece band with great sound!
Bassist Emma Anzai reminiscent of Sonic Syndicate's bassist Karin Axelsson, same energetic feeling over their movement
Emma really showed that she can play, I was very surprised.
The band begun to play the first tones of "Killing in the name of" That was awesome..
Then they just stoped...teasers :p (I show u same as the video below)

It was the fist time they enetered Swedish soil and the audience seemed to love em.

The band was formed 1997 by singer/lead guitarist Shimon Moore and bassist Emma Anzai,
initially with Shimon on drums and Emma on guitars. When Chris Mileski joined the band to play drums, Emma switched to bass and Shimon to guitar and vocals and they became the Sick Puppies.
When the Australian band decided to break through in the U.S., Shimon Moore and Emma Anzai, simply picked up and moved lock, stock and guitar amps to L.A., advertised for a drummer on Craig's List, and were soon joined by Orange County native Mark Goodwin.

They have done 4 albums since 2001 and the last one came out this year, its called Polar Opposite, Todays Tune is from this album, Enjoy!

Ive taken som pics of em see below :)

Teasers :p

Pain - Have A Drink On Me

Today its Swedens best Rock radio station,
Bandit Rock Award Show

This group is one of the bands that plays.

The Swedish, Pain!
The project started out as a hobby project for front man Peter Tägtgren, whose idea was to fuse metal with 1980's-inspired electro-industrial and techno influences. Tägtgren, who is also the vocalist/guitarist of Hypocrisy and producer of his own The Abyss studios, is the only current member.

Peter did a comment on their home site (Click below) that their new Album is on the going so "You Only Live Twice" is set to be released June 3 (Europe) and June 21, 2011

The producer Peter Tägtgren says "I really wanted something "Nightmare Before Christmas" meets "Alice In Wonderland" kind of feeling but with our mascot, the painhead in it. And Heile created that after what i wanted. And he did it in his own way. It really has this kinda Tim Burton feel to it. It will be really crazy with a big backdrop.

Tonight We will see em at Bandit Rock Awards in Stockholm, Sweden.

Lets view an old song called "Have a drink on me"...

Enjoy!

Cheers, Thetania

Riddarna - Jag kan glömma allt

I recently have been heavily influenced by Swedish stoner/rock music, something that hardly anyone missed who reads this eminent blog. Sometimes I feel like an octopus which throws out its tentacles and tries to capture something fun that you can listen to and analyze. Todays band is something that I fished out of Christoffer Röstlund Jonsson's Blog. A trio known as the Riddarna (The Knights) are from Gotland/Gothenburg in Sweden, and they are best described like Dungen's obnoxious country cousins born and breed on stoner-rock. they play a nice packed of rattling rock, hard pop, loudmouthed rock'n'roll in Swedish. Nice mix indeed, a bit of a suprise as here in Sweden, it has been not that much innovative harder music in Swedish.

The guys have their debut album in the pipleine for release on the 6th of april. I think ”Riddarna" have the opportunity to reach out to the widener pop/rock mass out there.

Riddarna are: Erik Dahlström, Edward Forslund and Patrik Jakubowski.

See what the press says about them.

“Ruthless real rock without washed-out sweat smelling Iron Maiden-shirts.”
- Cabinstreet.se

“The translation of “rock n’ roll” in Swedish? “Riddarna”! I bet their debut will be one of the best Swedish record in 2011.”
- Absolute Noise

“…the debut lands somewhere between wacky 60s psychedelia rock and 90s alternative.”
- Swede+Sour

Todays tune ”Jag kan glömma allt” is taken from their debut EP "Släpp allt - Glöm allt!" (roughly translated: Drop everything - Forget everything!) is a display of raw and dirty rock'n'roll in a party mood.
