Wovenwar - Censorship

On October 21, 2016 is the release day for the second studio album "Honor Is Dead" by the American heavy metal band WOVENWAR, the work shall be released via Metal Blade Records.

WOVENWAR is from San Diego, California, formed in 2013. They released their self-titled debut album on August 5, 2014. The band's musical style on the album has been described as hard rock, alternative metal, melodic metalcore and modern heavy metal.

After AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested on May 8, 2013, the remaining members began experimenting and writing with Shane Blay of OH, SLEEPER. Lambesis' arrest negatively affected his relationships with AS I LAY DYING, which resulted in the departure of all members except for Jordan Mancino, who had been sharing an ownership for the band's rights with Lambesis since 2006. After a short meeting, they decided to put discussions of the future of AS I LAY DYING on hold.

WOVENWAR comments the album process:

"Recording for the second WOVENWAR album is officially underway with the drum tracking being completed and the process moving into the guitar tracking phase. Several months worth of demos have been condensed into eleven new songs we are very proud of. The process found us expanding upon our melodic sound with a darker and more aggressive approach - utilizing elements restrained on our debut but familiar to our cumulative history. Nolly Getgood (PERIPHERY) is onboard to handle mixing duties. We look forward to hearing how his versatile talents elevate our sound and direction. We're looking to have the recording process wrapped up in the next couple months and hope to have the album out sometime late summer/early fall. Wovenwar - Death to Rights

Jordan Mancino(drums), Nick Hipa(guitar), Phil Sgrosso(guitar) and Josh Gilbert(bass/vocals) of San Diego, California based metal act AS I LAY DYING, have teamed up with vocalist Shane Blay (previously lead guitar/clean vocals in OH, SLEEPER) to create the new band WOVENWAR.

Their self-titled debut album was produced by the band along with the production team of Bill Stevenson (BLACK FLAG, THE DESCENDENTS) and Jason Livermore. Mixing duties for the outing were handled by Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD).

Wovenwar is the self-titled debut studio album and was released on 5 August 2014 through Metal Blade Records.

Wovenwar formed in 2013 in San Diego, California.

In mid 2014, the band performed with Black Label Society on their first North American tour. Additionally, the ensemble accompanied In Flames later that year while they travelled Europe.
