Spiritualized - I Think I'm In Love

Time to sumuraize the festival with some pictures and a majestic cathedral of sound. That’s what many people associate with SPIRITUALIZED. Or, as bandleader Jason Pierce put it to New York Times last year when describing the latest album "And Nothing Hurt": “My original line, on the top of the recording list, was that it would sound like something that came from Columbia studios, but broadcast from a satellite.” There’s more to it though. For example, an almost reckless dedication, a deep understanding of music history that goes way beyond rock, affectionate songwriting and, of course, an unmistakable sense of space.

In 1992 SPIRITUALIZED, formed as an off-shot from SPACEMEN 3, released their debut album "Lazer Guided Melodies". In a review Melody Maker wrote: “The sound of heaven … at times, SPIRITUALIZED are making 21st Century gospel.” Seven more albums have followed, including 1997 classic "Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space" where they collaborated with The London Community Gospel Choir and New Orleans voodoo funk maestro Dr. John.

Spiritualized did perform at 20.20 on Linné, Thursday Aug 8.

Here are some pictures from the festival, enjoy!

Today's tune "I Think I'm In Love" live at Metro Theatre in Sydney on 16 January 2009, the tune is taken from the third studio album "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space", released on 16 June 1997. The album features guest appearances from the Balanescu Quartet, The London Community Gospel Choir and Dr. John. The album's title is from the philosophical novel Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, the context being:

Only philosophers embark on this perilous expedition to the outermost reaches of language and existence. Some of them fall off, but others cling on desperately and yell at the people nestling deep in the snug softness, stuffing themselves with delicious food and drink. 'Ladies and Gentlemen,' they yell, 'we are floating in space!' But none of the people down there care.

At The Gates - Blinded By Fear

Heya Folks!

Back to Metaltown..and Gothenborg!

A band that I really like, is this... At The Gates.
They did their first gig at Debaser, Stockholm last year,
and then came along down there and did a gig.
Lucky us :D Tomas Lindberg the singer had shorter hair since I saw him last time but the same cruel voice and energy!

I heard some voices from the audience, mostly great , one down, but on the otherhand she didnt have a clue what she was talking about.
At The Gates are the rulers of this type of music in Sweden.

Here are the crew:
Members 1990-1996 & Reunion
Tomas 'Tompa' Lindberg - Vocals
Anders Björler - Guitar
Adrian Erlandsson - Drums
Jonas Björler - Bass
Martin Larsson - Guitar 1993-

Past Members
Alf Svensson - Guitar 1990-1993 (homepage)
Tony Andersson - Bass Guitar 1992 (Live only)

Session Members
Jesper Jarold - Violin (Live first gig 1991) & The Red In The Sky Is Ours (1992)

They are doing some more gigs, here they are:
August 13, 2011 - Party San Open Air, Germany [FLYER]

Avenged Sevenfold - Buried Alive

Hey there People!
Ive been in Gothenburgh for 4-5 days now...lotsa rain, lotsa weird cab drivers and many many good Metal peeps and Great bands, good cops and a bunch of Show Security personel that worked their ass off to get it safe....Loved it :D

First band that I pick is:

Avenged Sevenfold did a Fantastic gig at Metaltown In Gothenburg couple of days ago, 25.000 folks were raising their devils mark and screamed...Fanatasic view!!!

Four years after their debut album they got their breakthrough in 2005 with third album "City of Evil," in the U.S. alone they sold 1.5 million copies. On tour as opening act for Iron Maiden as well as Guns n Roses did Avenged Sevenfold since their first visit to Sweden.

In the midst of the work of the fifth album "Nightmare" hit the band of the shocking news that drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan tragically passed away. The other members decided to complete the recordings, as part of their grieving process. The result was the darkest and most personal that they ever accomplished. The album became their most successful and went straight into the American sales charts the first place.

I didnt have the opertunity to take any photo Im sorry.. but i stole some others.
