Linn Öberg - Jump

One of Britain's favorite Swedish has just released the video and soon she will support a music legend! Linn Öberg is a Singer Songwriter based in Stockholm, Sweden.

When Linn Öberg makes music she is inspired by Bon Iver and Leonard Cohen. This she present acoustically with just guitar, drums and vocal harmonies. With a melodic voice loaded with deep passion and darkness, and with an ability to touch the listener to your very souls. Should I pull a reference to someone, then believe it is Ane Brun who are closest one in line.

Her career took off after she released her first single "Jump" in 2012 and then started working with Andy Ross, the man who once signed Blur. After this, she has been visible at several venues across London and in May 15 she doing a gig in Stockholm, opening for Grammy winner Sinéad O'Connor at Hamburger Börs in Stockholm.

For about a year ago, she released her first EP "Parades", available to listen to through any streaming service.

Blur - Under the Westway

Blur as we know it was born in 1989 when the band signed to Food/EMI. The debut album Leisure (1991) announced the arrival of a band with pop suss warped by an art-punk eccentricity. Yet Blur had more in them: namely, a revolution in the sound of English popular music. The second album Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993) reintroduced the idea that English rock music could be cool, and by the time their third album Parklife emerged in 1994, the rest of the UK had caught up.

The Great Escape (1995) refined the sound palette of Britpop, but Blur was already moving on. 1997's Blur was an about-face – scuffed, noisy and un-English. In 1999 they followed up with 13 which was an even more radical adventure in sound as William Orbit mediated a truce between organic punkpop and new-fangled technology.

The seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon, and featured an eclectic variety of rhythms and textures, glorious melodies and their most direct set of songs since Parklife.

In 2009 Blur reunited, with Coxon back in the fold, for a series of successful concerts and have continued to release several singles and retrospective releases. In 2012, Blur received a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, and will headline the concert of the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony.

In the summer of 2012 the band will play one of three European shows at Way Out West Festival!

Todays tune "Under the Westway" is the band's first single since 2010's "Fool's Day". It was also accompanied by "The Puritan" and is currently playing in Blur's 2012 summer shows. The song made its radio debut on Steve Lamacq's BBC Radio 6 Music show on Monday 2nd July 2012. An early mix of the song will be also released on the upcoming Blur 21 boxset.
 

The performances of "Under the Westway" and "The Puritan" on 2 July are the first live performances of new material by the whole band since 30 January 1999, when all four members played a fan-club only concert at Finchley Arts Depot, London. This was at the start of the 13 tour, in which all songs from that album bar two were premiered.
