Chris Botti - My Funny Valentine

Christopher Stephen Botti or
Chris Botti (born October 12, 1962) is an American trumpeter and composer. Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, he spent two years of his childhood growing up in Italy.
His earliest musical influence was his mother, a classically trained pianist and part-time piano teacher.

He plays a Martin Committee Handcraft trumpet made in 1940.
The Martin Committee, a trumpet with an unusual name, earned its name by being designed by a committee. It went on to dominate the jazz trumpet market from the late 1940s until the mid 1960s or so. Committees were played by Miles Davis throughout his career, as well as Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, and even Al Hirt.
