The Swedish rockabilly band FATBOY have released a new single from the upcoming album Moments.
FATBOY boasts a rich mixture of influences ranging from Faron Young, STRAY CATS, Johnny Cash, Elvis and Roy Orbison to THE SMITHS, Tom Waits and THE CRAMPS. The dreams of the fifties, country and rockabilly music is being challenged by equal amounts of contemporary pop and indie rock, with a tasteful element of Greek bouzouki music and klezmer on the top of it.
Today's tune "Cruel Love" is taken from the upcoming album "Moments", available April 1st on long playing vinyl (LP) and CD (Compact Disc). This magnificent piece will probably knock out some new territories for FATBOY, enjoy it.
The Baseballs visited Sweden last week, including a gig at Klubben here in Stockholm, the cuddly boys did a nice appearance with their cheerful rockabilly, the crowd was absolutely crazy. Had a sauna chat with "Basti" which had been completely sold on this washing invention and have invested in a sauna at home in germany.
Basti said that the standard accessories to a sauna was quite impossible to buy at home. So he was really happy when he could find these things at the hardware store here in Stockholm.
The Baseballs are a German rock and roll band founded in Berlin in 2007. They became popular with rock cover versions of modern hits such as "Umbrella" by Rihanna and "Hot n Cold" by Katy Perry.
In 2010 the band supported guitarist Jeff Beck on his "Emotion and Commotion" tour as his opening act.
On first August 2011 The Baseballs released together with General Mills – the producer of the ice cream Häagen-Dazs – within an advertising campaign with Cosma Shiva Hagen a free download of the song "Wha Wha" – which was written especially for the campaign. The track is freely available and can be downloaded from the german site of the brand Häagen-Dazs, or click here to get it!
Here is some photos from the gig!

At the end of last week did Stockholm had a visit of Baseballs and Top Cats, these two bands had on its agenda to play at Klubben for a bunch of excited fans. Top Cats is the band that opens up and does it with bravura, these young men really get the audience to move his limbs, dancing away and singing along, the Top Cats would be an incredibly entertaining act I had actually never imagined, enough for a small suspicion arose during the sound check when the story of the cool guy from Östermalm was told and how a Östermalms riffs may sound.
The band was founded in 2001 by four friends, who soon became five, friends, that is. Daniel Kjellberg, Fredrik Lilja, Henric Törnevik, Jon Kleppenes and Patrik Pantzar. The idea was brought at a music lesson, where the full context was "playing in the group." Daniel, Fredrik and Jon who were in the same class and played the Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash. This was one of the first times their feeble teenage fingers could touch the base metal in the music hall's arsenal of instruments. After that they harrow in their friend Henric's Garage, an atmosphere filled with nasty and noisy sounds. And so it went on for a while. The upcoming years later, Frederick, Henry and Patrick pubertal faces immortalized in their friend the documentary film Raggarliv, in a parking lot outside of Arvika. And here begins the story of the Top Cats.

A story that mostly has been a success story, slightly chipped by band members who saddled on. Robert Jansson joined the band as drummer, replacing Daniel. This was a while ago, they are a little unsure of when exactly. They know that he certainly is on a recording that they made with Mariann Records 2004 A few years later decided to Patrick to quit, and later Henry. He was replaced by Martin Lindahl, our current bass player. And sim salla bop so we arrived in the present time.
Todays tune is the title track and first single from the latest album "Heartache"

Wot about the Danish band, Volbeat this Sunday morning?
I do believe they have a new video out, lemme see. Yeah!
Tune is taken from their 4th album and the latest "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven"
They do have a newer one but We havent had this one yet so we take this first.
Comments from the band: "It's been a long process, but damn well worth it.
The artwork for 'Beyond Hell/Above Heaven' is done and we're absolutely very proud of it."
Poulsen continues: "We have fast, slow and mid-tempo songs.
We still blend different styles of punk, rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, metal, heavy metal, thrash metal, country — we still keep it very open, it's just music!
I cannot say too much about it right now, but we're really excited about it and it's going to be very, very cool. Again, we're going to give people something they haven't heard before. We always try to do something special and different on each and every album."
Saw them earlier this autumn at Hovet in Stockholm, great concert.
The Jim Jones Revue, a English explosive rock'n'roll band. Jim Jones has been a part of some amazing bands (Thee Hypnotics & Black Moses) and The Revue is yet another one. It’s different stylistically but energy-wise it’s much like Thee Hypnotics “Liv’r Than God”. The Jim Jones Revue have been described as sounding like a car crash between Little Richard and The MC5. Their debut was recorded live on four track in 48 hours. The 10-track set is an album full of riffs you’ve probably heard before, with traditional Rock-n-Roll themes, dirty blues ass-shakin' boogie and it's Loud, the album is full of influences like Jerry Lee, The Sonics, MC5 and Elvis. The album is great played with well written songs mastered by a bunch of crazy guys!
The guys are out on a maniac tour at the moment, see tour dates below.
Todays tune "Princess and The Frog” The track kicks off with the distorted broken down honky tonk piano of Elliot Mortimer before the rest of the band crashes in like a dynamite. Enjoy!

The Jim Jones Revue make some really energic rock ‘n’ roll, sounding like Jerry Lee Lewis reanimated and set loose to wage war against the digital age.
The Meteors are a highly influential psychobilly band. Originally from the United Kingdom, they are often credited with giving the genre its distinctive sound. The Meteors consider themselves the first and only "pure" psychobilly band. Fans of the band (known as the World Wide Wrecking Crew (WWWC)) are known to use the slogan, "Only The Meteors are Pure Psychobilly," (often shortened to "OTMAPP") as a rallying cry
Tiger Army is a psychobilly band that was formed in 1995 in Berkeley, California. Was working with these guys a few days ago. They served some great rock tunes for an sold out evening in Stockholm. Here is a great tune from them. Enjoy!
