Nickelback - This Means War

Here and Now Tour is a tour by Canadian Rock band Nickelback in 2012-13 in support of their seventh album, "Here and Now". During this Wednesday visited this band Sweden for a gig on the globe. So far the tour is being supported by Rock bands Seether, My Darkest Days and Bush in the Canada and United States leg, while Daughtry support throughout Europe.

Nickelback is a Canadian rock band from Hanna, Alberta. Since 1995 the band has included guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist and back-up vocalist Ryan Peake and bassist Mike Kroeger. The band's current drummer and percussionist is Daniel Adair(3 doors down) who has been with the band since 2005, replacing drummer Ryan Vikedal who was with the band between 1998–2005. Nickelback's music is classed as hard rock, post-grunge, and alternative rock. Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian groups, having sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

It was pretty interesting day, though the band is not on my top ten list. Met with a technician "Stu Lee" who was very interested in art, stood and painted during his free time when the band did their soundcheck. Always fun to talk to like-minded people. Have a picture a little further down on Stu in Action!

Once everything was up and spinning I got stuck with the band's drum tech, where we stood and talked polishing of cymbals, which medium that worked best, gave my advice and he gave his. It's really fun that there are so many ideas about how things work, or should work, think that he bought my idea of how to make things smooth. But we will not go into that now ... maybe someday :) In the midst of our polishing geek time, so did Daniel Adair showed up on stage, and suddenly we stood and talked ice hockey and the brothers Sedin. These Swedish twins were no longer Swedish, they belong to Vancouver, Canada forever ... point! haha. It came up during the evening that Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) was a friend with Daniel Adair, where the stylish t-shirt he wore :)

Check out the Drummers t-shirt!!!

Daughtry - Renegade

A few days ago, more precisely last Wednesday it was American Rock all the way at the Globe. Nickelback is on tour along with Daughtry.

Two bands that are not really my taste of music, but there was I as a worker, worked like a dog for for the support act who had really much things with them, a little excessive, I think, but those who saw them probably thought the contrary. Enough about that, they were a bunch of nice guys who were there to deliver what they are great at, simply. And of course they delivered what was expected, the audience liked what they did and when Daughtry asked whether they would come back and play themselves?, That answer was simply a great cheering in the audience. Probibly we see them in an arena again soon.

Daughtry is an American rock band from North Carolina, formed and fronted by American Idol season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006. The disc reached number one for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard Top 200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks's debut album, sold more than four million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard. Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. The first single from the album, "It's Not Over", was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, "Home", was the tenth most played song in the U.S. of 2007. The band's second album, Leave This Town, was released in July 2009. The first single, "No Surprise," was released on May 5. "No Surprise" was written by Chris Daughtry with Nickelback's Chad Kroeger and The Click Five's Eric Dill. The band's third studio album, Break the Spell was released in November 2011.

Members:

Chris Daughtry – lead vocals, guitar (2006–present)
Josh Paul – bass, (2006–present)
Josh Steely – lead guitar, backing vocals (2006–present)
Brian Craddock – rhythm guitar, backing vocals (2007–present)

Kottak - Sunset Blvd

James R. Kottak (born December 26, 1962, Louisville, Kentucky), who has beaten up the drums for the German super group Scorpions for the last 16 years.

Prior to joining Scorpions, Kottak was a drummer for Nut House, Mister Charlie, Buster Brown, Montrose, Kingdom Come, Wild Horses, the McAuley Schenker Group, Warrant, and Ashba. In February 1997 he helped Dio on their US tour by replacing Vinny Appice for four or five shows when Vinny Appice had pneumonia. He also gave drum lessons at Far-Out Music in Jeffersonville, Indiana, once having former Bride drummer, Jerry McBroom, as a student. He was married to Athena Lee, rocker Tommy Lee's younger sister, who is also a drummer and was a fellow member of Kottak. The couple has three children; one girl, Tobi, and two boys, Miles and Matthew. Athena was nominated for "BEST DRUMMER" (Males and Females) category. She was the first female ever nominated in the history of the L.A. Music Awards.

James has recorded 6 CDs and 5 DVDs with the Scorpions so far. He also plays in his own band Kottak, formerly known as KrunK. Kottak has just released its fourth studio album Attack, which was produced by Tommy Henriksen (Daughtry, BC Jean, Lady Gaga). It was recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville at Henriksens’ Anarchy Studios.

The current line up is James Kottak (vocals, guitars), Stephanie Smith (lead guitars, backing vocals), Nils Wandrey (bass, backing vocals) and Francis Ruiz (drums).

Kottak is touring with Edguy atm on their Age Of The Joker tour.

James Kottak, yes, do not really know how to say this, a nice lad, lovely confused, a bit Ozzy over him, as when he and guitarist sang together as did the feeling that Ozzy stood there and did a duet with Courtney Love. It was a good gig, even James got behind the drum stool on one occasion. He offered truly of himself and it was a lot of humor on stage. He dragged up a photographer on the stage that had a worn Motley Crue t-shirt on as he pointed a little about, even a "Kottak 'fan did come up and sing a bit.

Classic insane Kottak moment....Kottak is currently having a blast on tour opening for Edguy on their Fall European tour!!!

Todays tune is "Sunset Blvd" is taken from his album Rock & Roll Forever, it's like “Cheap Trick meets Green Day on a bad day.”  Enjoy!
