Gothenburg's FRANSKA TRION new album "Dom Ensammas Planet" (The Planet of the Lonely) is the first without drummer Thommy Larsson. But despite his death, he is present on the album and in the band colleague and friend Matti Ollikainen's life.
The song "Två Steg Bort" (Two Steps Away) is about the friend and band colleague Thommy Larsson who passed away last spring. The album goes from darkness to light - from classic FRANSKA TRION topics like mad love, despair and anxiety to dazzling heavenly light and vibrant life.
FRANSKA TRION was formed one evening at the jazz club Brötz in Gothenburg, Sweden 17 years ago by Matti Ollikainen, Thommy Larsson and Victor Furbacken. Since then, Matti Ollikainen - in addition to being a widely employed studio and tour musician - has sung his autobiographical songs about unhappy love, dark taverns, and desperation - but also about passion, hope, and happy love. The music moves between rock, blues, and jazz.
Today's tune "Lättare" (Lighter) is the first single from the tenth studio album "Dom Ensammas Planet" released on July 26, 2019.
