Aerosmith - Legendary Child

Aerosmith is an American rock band, sometimes referred to as "The Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band." Their style, which is rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of pop, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton, originally in a band together called the Jam Band, met up with singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano, and formed Aerosmith. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and the band began developing a following in Boston. The rest is history...

Todays tune "Legendary Child" is the first single from the upcoming fifteenth studio album, Music from Another Dimension! The single was released May 24, 2012.

The song was originally written and recorded in 1991 during the initial sessions for the Get a Grip album, but was never released. The song has been re-worked and is now slated for inclusion on Aerosmith's upcoming album, which is set to be released on November 6, 2012. It is also set to appear in the upcoming film G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

This will be their first studio album since 2004's Honkin' on Bobo and the first to feature all-new material since 2001's Just Push Play, marking the longest gap between Aerosmith's studio albums.

Aerosmith debuted "Legendary Child" with a performance of the song on the season finale of the television show American Idol on May 23, 2012.

After the release of the single, Aerosmith will headline the Global Warming Tour with Cheap Trick, which will take the bands to two dozen North American locations from mid-June through mid-August 2012.
