Riot - Warrior

The long-lived New York-based heavy metal band Riot was formed in 1975 by guitarist/songwriter Mark Reale, who in time recruited vocalist Guy Speranza, guitarist L.A. Kouvaris, bassist Jimmy Iommi and drummer Peter Bitelli. After debuting in 1977 with Rock City the flow of members started. First lineup change with Kouvaris, who was replaced by guitarist Rick Ventura, and the group returned in 1979 with Narita; Iommi and Bitelli were the next to exit, and with the recruitment of bassist Kip Leming and drummer Sandy Slavin the classic Riot line-up was in place.

Riot reached their peak in popularity in the early 1980s. Riot has toured with AC/DC, Molly Hatchet, Sammy Hagar, Kiss, Vandenberg and Black Sabbath among others.

Todays tune "Warrior" is taken from Riot's debut record "Rock City"- 1977. The album is the only Riot album to feature writing contributions by original bassist Phil Feit who went on to join acts such as Billy Idol, playing on his hits Hot In The City, and White Wedding, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and Adam Bomb where he briefly crossed paths with another Riot alum, drummer Sandy Slavin. Todays video is from 1981 so it's not with a any good quality, but check it out as it includes a great guitar battle between Mark Reale and Rick Ventura, Enjoy!
