Thou - The Changeling Prince

THOU is an American sludge metal/experimental doom band formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2005. The current line-up of the band consists of Bryan Funck (vocals), Andy Gibbs (guitar), Matthew Thudium (guitar), and Mitch Wells (bass).

"Magus" is THOU s first full-length since 2014’s "Heathen". "Magus" is dedicated to the sacred ego, that wellspring of individuality and unique complexity. Sing the song of the Inner Voice. Recite the hymns to the Celestial Will. Rebuke all desire to succumb to corrosive idolatry—be it the militancy of extremity, the beneficence of untempered ideology, or the divinity of cherished relationships. Rebuke the impulse to capitulation, to hide beneath of hard shell of callous disregard and secede from the world. We surrender our power only to those worthy of wielding it. And we will not hesitate to strip authority from and war against all those that prove unworthy.

The album was released August 31, 2018 , recorded in 2017 by James Whitten. Mastered in 2018 by James Plotkin. Additional vocals by Emily McWilliams.

Today's tune "The Changeling Prince", taken from "Magus". The video was directed by: Bryan Funck & Mitch Wells, lighting design: Michael Moises, edited by: Mitch Wells. Enjoy!

Uada - Cult Of A Dying Sun

From the darkness, UADA (meaning haunted in Latin) emerges breathing the spirit of the original 90’s Black Metal wave. Since 2014, this Portland, Oregon four-piece has used a unique approach to combine raw black metal and spectral melodies.

They seemed to arrive out of nowhere in 2016—faces veiled and clad in leather jackets. The Portland quartet blindsided black metal audiences with their debut album, "Devoid of Light". They had nothing, no demos or EPs, not even a homemade Cassette that was spreading all over like a disease, just a bunch of shows in which they played their early stuff. This is not something we are used to these days, especially in the black metal scene where a lot of bands build their name on raw demos.

Now, on their much-anticipated second full-length album, "Cult of A Dying Sun", the band shows that they can repeat their success more than once.

Jake Superchi - Vocals/Guitar
James Sloan - Guitar
Josiah Babcock - Drums
Edward Halpin - Bass

Today's tune "Cult Of A Dying Sun" is one of the most furious tracks they've released to date. The tune was filmed on the active stratovolcano Mt. St. Helens (Louwala-Clough) in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest - Skamania County, Washington. Including Iron Creek Falls, Windy Ridge Viewpoint, Norway Pass & Spirit Lake. The tune is the title track of UADA's second album, enjoy!

Immortal - Mighty Ravendark

IMMORTAL has been one of the most important black metal bands in the world, since the release of their first demo “The Northern Upins Death” in 1990. Over the last eleven years, IMMORTAL have slowly – but not always quietly – established themselves as a leading act in black metal. With the recent passing of the last emperor, the black metal world is like a snake with no head, a writhing mass of coiled muscle wasting away under the weight of its own grimness. It’s time for the true successor to step forward and seize the abdicated throne. And I promise you this, true believers, it won’t be a gaggle of major label limeys in Halloween costumes sporting bad dye jobs and fake blood.

With the ninth studio album "Northern Chaos Gods" by Norwegian black metal band IMMORTAL they still show that they can still be count on at the scene of extremists and god haters.

"Northern Chaos Gods" was released on 6 July 2018. This is the first album after the departure of Abbath from the band and their first studio album in almost nine years since "All Shall Fall" (2009), marking the longest gap between two studio albums by IMMORTAL. Once again recorded at Abyss Studios and produced by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy), who also produced the last two. Peter also played bass on this album. In an interview before the album's release, Demonaz said he wanted to make the album as "grim, dark and cold as possible"

Today's tune "Mighty Ravendark" is taken from "Northern Chaos Gods", enjoy!

Marduk ✠ The Blond Beast

MARDUK the Swedish black metal band released a live clip from Graspop, with the tune "The Blond Beast", see below.

The tune is taken from the bands thirteenth studio album "Frontschwein" (German slang for "front pig"; a German military term for "soldier serving long at the front, often used as an ironic accolade for a soldier with the will to fight". Compare with Etappenschwein.) It was released on 19 January 2015 through Century Media Records. It is the band's first album to feature drummer Fredrik Widigs.

The group formed in 1990 in the city of Norrköping and released their first album in 1992. Their name is derived from the Babylonian god MARDUK, patron deity of Babylon.

Enjoy MARDUK live at Graspop 23.6.2018 with the tune "The Blond Beast".
