The Vintage Caravan - Whispers

Virtuosic ‘70s rock guitar ruminations encounter an irrefutable mixture of astonishing modern elements and classic psychedelic / progressive rock trademarks of the Icelandic frontrunners THE VINTAGE CARAVAN released their fifth studio album, "Monuments", on April 16, 2021 via Napalm Records.

After countless high-voltage live performances at festivals such as Roadburn, Wacken and Hellfest, and touring with OPETH, the Icelandic band’s new full-length impressively demonstrates that they have matured both musically and lyrically – presenting their very own potent mixture accented by bold, nostalgic nuance.

These youngbloods from Reykjavik truly cast a spell on fans of bewitching, guitar-driven classic and blues rock influences. As on today's tune "Whispers", the album opener they clearly showcases the band’s musical progression without sacrificing their tried-and-true, retro-inspired sonic trademark.

The band was formed in 2006 by Óskar Logi Ágústsson and Guðjón Reynisson before bassist Alexander Örn Númason joined after the first studio album. As of 2021, the band have released five studio albums and are currently signed with Napalm Records.

Today's tune "Whispers", taken from the latest album "Monuments" was produced and mixed by Ian Davenport. Video directed, shot and edited by: Gottskálk Daði, Bernhöft Reynisson at RKK I RVK. Camera Assistants: Hákon J. Helgason, Gunnar Már Halldórsson. Enjoy!

The Vintage Caravan - Reflections

DEEP PURPLE, LED ZEPPELIN, JIMI HENDRIX, RAINBOW - the list of bands that influence THE VINTAGE CARAVAN’s creative work is undeniable, but the band still puts their very own stamp on every single track. At least so they do on the first tune and single "Reflections" taken from the upcoming fourth album "Gateways", out on August 31, 2018.

THE VINTAGE CARAVAN are from Álftanes, Iceland. The band was formed in 2006 by Óskar Logi Ágústsson and Guðjón Reynisson before bassist Alexander Örn Númason joined after the first studio album. There has been just one line-up change since the founding of the band when Stefán Ari Stefánsson replaced Guðjón Reynisson on drums in 2015. The band has released three studio albums.

Today's tune "Reflections" is an indomitable beast and gives a great fingertip on what comes ahead in August, really looking forward to a full spin, enjoy!

The Vintage Caravan - Expand Your Mind

Well, now we have reach the end of this year and it's time for the last tune to be played here at Tune Of The Day for 2013. We look forward to 2014 and a really nice music year.

One of the upcoming bands might be this young band, hailing from the Greater Reykjavik area. The Vintage Caravan was originally founded around 2006 when the band members were very young. However, it did not become a serious project until 2009.

The Vintage Caravan are known for their energetic stage performance and have been very active live for the past few years. Since 2011 the band has released two LPs with the latter being released by one of the largest record labels in Iceland, Sena which they made a deal with in early 2012. That same year bassist Alex Örn joined the group.

Musical influences are very diverse but mainly include the classic hard rock of the 60's and 70's. Though the influence may suggest a glorified retro-type band, The Vintage Caravan do it in their own way with a powerful attitude and a modern twist.

Todays tune "Expand Your Mind" is taken from the album "Voyage", that will be released on Jan. 10th (EU), Jan. 13th (UK) and January 21, 2014 (NA) via Nuclear Blast Records.
