Buffalo Killers - Need A Changin'

The American rock band BUFFALO KILLERS released a video for "Need A Changin’” on Oct 20, 2017. After the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas that took place Oct. 1, guns and gun violence have been on everyone’s mind this month. BUFFALO KILLERS’ Zach Gabbard has been thinking about it as well, having dealt with a gun-related incident at his child’s school.

He wrote a song a few days after dealing with the frightening event, “Need a Changin,'” which addresses his jumble of emotions.

Gabbard say of the track: “The lyrics for ‘Need a Changin’’ came to me a few days after [the school shooting]. On top of dealing with your own s***, you have to constantly relive it through the disgusting media circus that descends upon your community. When it’s too much to feel, you gotta sing.

“On a lighter note, the video comes from a longstanding theory of mine that all joggers are listening to Spoon,” he adds. “That’s not a diss. I love Spoon.”

On Oct. 20, the band’s eighth studio album, Alive and Well in Ohio, was released via Alive Naturalsound Records. The set was recorded at their Howler Hills Farm, Middletown, Ohio on analog studio on their own terms. Equipped with only the knowledge they had gained over the years, the band crafted this album without rules or pressure and is inspired by seasons of change, life, longing, love, and family. Pull up the faders and you can hear the guys singing, stomping, clapping and bleeding into each other's mics... on their own time, in their own space. They captured the melodies as they emerged.

Created and produced by songwriting brothers Zachary and Andrew Gabbard, the warm, consciously imperfect, and raw sound finds its inspiration in seasons of change, life, longing, love, and family. The universal truth that the only constant is change is woven throughout the 12 songs.

Today’s tune "Need A Changin’” is taken from "Alive And Well In Ohio”. Video Directed by Patrick Bertram Hague. Enjoy!

Arcadea - Army of Electrons

5 billion years after the last great extinction, where the impending collision of galaxies creates a new order of planets. Where cold, distant moons pledge alliance to new suns and expanding gas giants implode into black holes. Ancient drones, forever adrift, record toxic tales of love between dying stars. Where lifeforms in suspended animation, dream among the ice rings of Saturn and cosmic war wages among gods and planets. It is in this universe that ”Arcadea" reign supreme as the last surviving space wizards since the final extinction. The galaxy Andromeda spins headlong into the Milky Way with three intergalactic travelers in tow.

Drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor (MASTODON), Guitarist/keyboardist Core Atoms (ZRUDA, GAYLORD) and Keyboardist/guitarist Raheem Amlani (WITHERED, SCARAB) are said pioneers, the space wizards of psychedelic soundscapes where organic drums collide with synthetic keys to create an infinite transmission from an event horizon. They go by ARCADEA and their otherworldly brand of psyche-electric, synth-driven, metallic madness sounds alien yet somehow familiar.
ARCADEA's visionary, self-produced, self-titled debut was mastered by Colin Leonard (MASTODON) and features stunning cover art from renowned sci-fi fantasy artist Essy May.

”Arcadea” is 10 tune electronic commodore 64 odyssey with influences of MASTODON, recorded at Orange Peel Studios in Atlanta, GA. The self-titled debut record was released via Relapse Records this June.

Unlike their other bands, ARCADEA uses only keyboards in a unique blend of crushing, organic drums and psychedelic synthesizers. The music is at once electronic but not electronica, synthetic but not processed, heavy but not metal.

Today’s tune "Army of Electrons”, taken from the self titled debut album ”Arcadea”.

Igorrr - ieuD

"Savage Sinusoid" is the newest addition to Igorrr’s musical madness, released on Metal Blade Records. Completely sample-free, the album features vocalists Laurent Lunoir and Laure Le Prunenec, along with drummer Sylvain Bouvier, and showcases more musicians than any of Igorrr previous releases – one of those guests being CATTLE DECAPITATIONs Travis Ryan, who lends his vocals on “Cheval”, “Apopathodiaphulatophobie” and “Robert”, while we can see also Teloch, from Mayhem, performing the guitars and the bass on the track “Viande”.

While "Savage Sinusoid" draws from a plethora of genres, Serre has no intention of baffling or alienating potential listeners. As he explains:"I just want to make the music I love, without asking myself if it's gonna be too complex or too far from what people like. I want to make the music which has sense to me, with no restrictions, like a big party with metalheads, electronics nerds, classical and baroque-heads and gypsy violinists getting drunk and joining together to bring the best of every genre."

Initially influenced by the likes of MESSHUGGAH, CHOPON, CANNIBAL CORPSE, BACH, DOMENCIO SCARLATTI, TARAF DE HAIDOUKS and APHEX TWIN, traces of these artists can be found littered across Igorrr’s discography, but Serre has never been interested in remaining static or merely recycling ideas, and his work has dramatically evolved accordingly. It deeply explains how Igorrr’s music is such an explosion of creativity while keeping a cohesive universe records after records.

In recent years, Igorrr has also become a collective, rather than the work of one man alone, which has brought a new level of intensity into the group live representations.

Today's tune "ieuD" is taken from "Savage Sinusoid", enjoy this madness!

He Is Legend - Air Raid

"Air Raid", is a tune and video from Wilmington, North Carolina's rockers HE IS LEGEND, see it below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Few", released on April 28 via Spinefarm Records.

The band's current lineup is front man Schuylar Croom, guitarists Adam Tanbouz and Denis Desloge, bassist Matt Williams and drummer Sam Huff.

The band has enveloped from their previous musical style where they had a blend of Southern metal and Metalcore and now today they mixes a more softer style like Southern rock and alternative metal with a psychedelic rock sludge metal spice.

Like today's tune "Air Raid" where you get a wall of low rumbling sound, gentle vocals before it gets interrupted by a jangling, slack-wristed guitar riff and a vocal with more punch in it's melody. The Video was directed By Justin Reich.
