Fatal Smile - For The Last In Line
Saturday, busy day, Record Store Day, if I'm at home always try to prioritize and this Saturday I got a few hours to spend in town to fetch up some new stuff and say hello to the store owners, left with 2 bags of records (more of that later this week, I hope) to meet up with my youngest daughter that had a soccer event with her team. Finally at home, writing this before it's time for dinner and a change over of my self to the evening looking good outfit. Because it's time for some party, a good friend of mine is turning one year older, one of the milestone birthdays, today it's an even number and he throws out a big birthday party, where both I and Thetania will attend to. I believe it will be an awesome evening, many friends to say hello to and some new to meet.
My friends are known as Blade (Thomas Emblad) in the rock act FATAL SMILE, a band that had a strong and solid reputation internationally and achieved great success with their 2nd album "Neo Natural Freaks". Thomas is a joyful man, very social and caring, a mate who is close when needed. A very sympathetic colleague while on the roads, simply a nice guy to work with, we had a lot of fun for a couple of years, still have when the time comes. So today we celebrate Thomas with a great tune he wrote to celebrate "Ronnie James Dio" Happy Birthday man, see you tonight!
“You guys are the best opening band I´ve ever had!” words from Ronnie James Dio about FATAL SMILE.
Today's tune "For The Last In Line", enjoy!

Casper Roland Popp

James Leg - A Forest
"A Forest" is a song by the English alternative rock band THE CURE. Co-produced by Mike Hedges and THE CUREs Robert Smith, it was released as a single from the band's second album "Seventeen Seconds" on 8 April 1980.
"A Forest" tells a vague story of the pursuit of a girl in a forest, which ends in a loss. Many fans and critics regard this song in particular as a good example of THE CUREs unique sound.
This song is behind a famous incident. At the 1981 Werchter Festival in Belgium, The Cure were on before Robert Palmer and were just finishing their set. Robert Palmer, apparently getting a little pushy, tried to have his road crew hurry The Cure off the stage. Robert Smith responded by sassily informing the crowd that they couldn't play anymore, then played an extra-long 9-minute version of "A Forest." Bass player Simon Gallup put a stamp on the performance by shouting "F--k Robert Palmer" to a cheering crowd!
Today's cover of the tune "A Forest" made by JAMES LEG, a pretty remarkable version with distorted Hammond, the Clip is filmed live at Le Bootleg Bordeaux 03/11/2015, enjoy!
THE CURE play "A Forest" at the "Rock Werchter Festival" on july 2, 1981. This is the infamous "f***k Robert Palmer, f**k Rock and Roll" episode where the Cure were told they had to cut their set short, obviously not to the amusement of Robert Smith, Simon Gallup and Lol Tolhurst.

Blackwülf - Sinister Sides
The long-awaited third album from Bay Area dark, heavy rockers, BLACKWÜLF, featuring the fantastic guest lead guitar work of doom legend, Geof O'Keefe (PENTAGRAM/BEDEMON), who adds his chops to three tracks!
Employing the guitar pyrotechnics of Pete Holmes and the Banshee wail of Alex Cunningham, combined with a rhythm section for the ages, BLACKWÜLF bring out all the best of what is stoner/doom and pure heavy rock.
This is hard riffing doom rock with a great melodic touch!
A gorgeous gatefold LP with fractal art!
Pure Vintage Rock and Roll. Blackwulf’s new album is packed full of classic style riffing and hooks to keep you indulged for many future streams, spins, or whatever have you. Moments of this banger are straight up Stoner infused Doom, but Blackwulf managed to nail the vibes of several variations of rock and roll that can’t be pinpointed to just one band. Sinister Sides is a powerful collection of tracks that is probably considered their best release yet. Consider this a “must have” for Riff lovers!
Visit ripplemusic.bigcartel.com/products to order the album including the Limited Edition vinyl!
Today's tune is "Sinister Sides", the title tune of the new album, released Feb 23rd. Video shoot and Production: Scott Hester
