Rare Bird - Sympathy

And when you climb into your bed tonight
And when you lock and bolt the door
Just think of those out in the cold and dark
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round

And sympathy is what we need my friend
And sympathy is what we need
And sympathy is what we need my friend
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round
No, there's not enough love to go 'round

Now half the world hates the other half
And half the world has all the food
And half the world lies down and quietly starves
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round

And sympathy is what we need my friend
And sympathy is what we need
And sympathy is what we need my friend
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round
No, there's not enough love to go 'round...

Lyrics of today's Sunday Classic, a text that feels very important, even today, no matter if it was written 45 years ago.

"Sympathy" is a 1970 song by English rock band Rare Bird. It became a hit in continental Europe and sold one million copies worldwide.

The song was also recorded by Steve Rowland and The FAMILY DOGG and MARILLION. It was also recorded by Daliah Lavi in English and German language.

The cover art features a painting by Marc Harrison titled The Birdwoman Of Zartacla (later also used for the cover of the June 1981 issue of the Heavy Metal magazine).

Rare Bird was a progressive rock band founded in 1969. They were formed in England, but had more success in other European countries than they did at home. They are mostly remembered for the haunting, organ-based track "Sympathy".

Enjoy today's tune and don't forget does that doesn't have as good as we do.
