Lamb Of God - Set to Fail

This week has been very hard week on the musical scene, to mention some of the bands, there has been bands like "Fear Factory", "M.A.N", "Hypocrisy", "Scar Symmetry", "Lamb Of God", "August Burns Red", "Job For A Cowboy" and "Between The Buried And Me" all that mixed up with "Tokio Hotel" and "Yeahsayer" so a very hard week indeed.

And now i will talk about one band from the metal package that entered the doors at Arenan yesterday. Lamb Of God is out touring in Europe with "August Burns Red", "Job For A Cowboy" and "Between The Buried And Me" (More of that the upcoming days).

15 years ago, Lamb of God began their ascent to the forefront of modern heavy metal. A self-described "pure American metal" quintet from Richmond, USA. Due to the variety of influences, stylistic elements and changes throughout the band's career the press has chosen several genres and terms to describe Lamb of God's music. Lamb of God has been labeled as a Groove Metal band. Campbell, on the Walk With Me in Hell DVD, says that Lamb of God is "a punk band that plays heavy metal", while Chris Adler refers to Sacrament as a speed metal album.

Thanks to brutal and technical albums like "New American Gospel" 2000 and "As the Palaces Burn" 2003, the band began their international career overseas. Entering 2004, 10 years after inception, the band had risen to the top of the independent metal scene. Five years ago, Lamb of God surprised the hell out of everyone ” including themselves ” by attracting the attention of and soon after inking a deal with Epic Records. "How does an extreme band like us even exist at this kind of upper-echelon major label?" remembers guitarist Mark Morton. Lamb of God has built a career and a catalog of material that has inspired and fueled the evolution of Heavy Metal in the new millennium. 'Wrath' combines every lesson learned and years of experience. The album is a testament to the integrity of the band, choosing well into their career, on their terms, to go further and push harder rather than ever before. 'Wrath' may very well be, in many ways, their crowning achievement.

Lamb of God (LOG) consists of vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler.

Was a great day with alot of laughs between the setup, did have some great chats with Mickey (Chris Adlers) drum tech who also have worked with "Meshuggah" (The best metal band in the world, regarding to Mickey) LOG had a meet and greet during this day and let some fans to come to the venue and meet the band. When the time came for soundcheck and the fans came in from the backstage the got a bit confused, thats not LOG on stage :) No it was not LOG on stage. Chris had invited some of his friends to come over for the gig and soundcheck, so on stage was part of the band "Mustasch" and behind the drums was Danne McKenzie and Mats Johansson grabbed John's bass, also David Johannesson borrowed Marks guitar. So it looks cool to see the faces on the fans when the guys was jaming on stage. Mark, Wille, John and Chris joined up for the jam, sounded really cool and the real soundcheck was on. And for the main show, well these guys can rock for real, the sound was great and the lightning was very nice. I do like what i saw and enjoyed it alot.

Also notice a post on Metalyse (In Swedish) earlier today about this gig where he said that this was the best LOG show ever and one of the best shows of all time, thats a hell of a review. And LOG is well worth it. So if the tour is coming to your town, go and buy a ticket and watch the show you wont regret it. Check below for rest of the tour.

Mycket snygg text, som vanligt j**igt härligt att få en lite inblick som vi vanliga dödliga fans aldrig får annars.

Bra låt också. Förstås. Och tack för länkningen! :)
